Online Puppy Scam Reports & Reviews (24)

We bought two puppies from an on line vendor in NC including $250 for shipping. Puppies were to be shipped and at my house hours later that day. Instead, I get an email from Instant Pet Transport Service stating I had to pay for crate rental before they could proceed; they took Apple Pay or BitCoin which I do not have. They decided they could take gift cards which I purchased from Publix, took pictures of the cards and texted to them. They cashed them as payment. Hours later they needed insurance money, then capability money since I complained about the additional expense. Then stamp money. Same process with the gift certificates. Too much time has passed so the rental expired, then the insurance and they still have the puppies. Asking for payment again for all of the above with the promise that it is fully refundable. At this point we have spent $8,500. Beyond foolish I know but in the heat of the moment "if we get the money right now we can proceed with shipping".... Their web site's only contact is to leave your email info and what you are looking for. No phone numbers, or address. They have a tracking system for your order so it looks really legitimate. This whole time we really wanted those two puppies and that was our goal. I am embarrassed and ashamed of myself; I know better but fell for this anyway. No way to get the money back or to replace it in our life! Several conversations I had saying this feels like a scam, "no Ma'm, I am a Christian." We have been in business for years. Of course they would deny its a scam. I told him that we would not pay anymore money so his response is he would tell the authorities that we abandoned our puppies.

I found Milo Dachshund Breeder through an Advertisement link on googles first page. I proceeded to communicate with the “company” to see about getting a puppy through them. Both my wife and myself were very happy with the pictures available but my wife was skeptical. In order to move forward with process of the arrangement of shipping I ended up giving them our full names, address and my phone number. The first bit of worry and confusion came when my wife sent me a picture, it was the same picture as the puppy in question we were planning to purchase but it was a picture on the Etsy website. I asked the “breeder” about the picture and they said they beginning to get uncomfortable via the text thread that had started at that point but proceeded to say we can pick up the puppy. Since we were uncomfortable with the travel I said we could come to pick her up. At that point I had searched the site as a scam and uncovered it was. But to confirm my suspicions I played a long for a bit. They then proceeded to say that if we pick her up they would need a $500 deposit to hold her for us. At this point I was just very upset because I had given them my information… luckily it wasn’t any banking information so hopefully no money loss but it could still be used against me…I am a bit worried. That being said if the person that does have the cream dachshund from the site I envy you because she’s a cutie. The name they’d given her was Lola.

I found Companion Pugs Farm (https://companionpugsfarm.com) online and began communicating with the seller, Thomas Elden - (417) 847-0061, via text and email ([email protected]) regarding a 3 month old female Pug named Breena. After communicating and discussions, came to an agreement to buy Breena for $800 + $200 transportation from Beachlane Shipping Group (https://beachlaneshippinggroup.com). Thomas said I needed to pay $500 to hold and get the transportation set up, which was completed on 9/29/22 via zelle to his wife's zelle ([email protected]). I received an email from Beachlane Shipping Group that began making me wonder the validity of this as it was extremely unprofessional in its delivery and information.

After sharing my concerns with the seller Thomas, he assured me many times via text that they use this company many times and I had nothing to worry about. The total balance was sent via Zelle on 9/30/22 for $500 and was told I would have Breena at my house Saturday by 5pm (10/1/22). On 10/1/22 in the morning I received a call (supposedly) from Beachlane that my dog was in their custody, however, I needed to send an additional $1,500 that was refundable for "insurance" before they would send her, and needed to send to Zelle account [email protected], Named Lamine Diagne. I told him on the phone I was being scammed to which they immediately hungup. The phone number was 513.973.4587 (Hamilton, OH) which is same number on their website.

I tried calling Thomas Elden, seller, right after and they have never answered or responded to texts, to which I said I was reporting their scam.

I said it was the fact that my family was prepping for and excited about receiving our new family pet and wanted the money back and would move on, however, with no replies, I want to make sure this doesn't happen to additional families and children.

They are offering puppies, but you must pay a $200 Google Pay or PayPal deposit to hold them. Then you are able to look at them. We placed a listing describing our experience and were contacted by others that were scammed by them. The were advertising English Bulldogs, but other people had contacted them inquiring about other breeds they had listed.

Here was our CL ad about their scams.
