A male with an accecent of middle eastern decent has engaged in calling my grandmother for almost 10 months now claiming that he is "aware" of a virus on her computer and is attempting to elicit a payment of $49.99 to remotely enter her computer and repair the damages. When asked who he works for he claims to work for PC Solutions but his number appears as private on the caller ID. During the first bout of calls 10 months ago my grandmother believed him, made a payment and allowed him into her computer remotely. After calling me to discuss this she was advised to take her computer to Best Buy to clean it from all downloads and to stop payment on this service, she did both. Best Buy informed her that there were no viruses + no possible manner in which someone would remotely be aware of any issues except if she let them in. They removed several downloads made by this agent when she allowed them in, it is unknown what the downloads were supposed to target. However given the call today I believe this may be a string attempt to hook someone into making regular payments in fear losing their computer use. Now in the last 2 weeks he has begin to call again aggressively meaning my grandmother stated, "No, Thank you" & he calls back again 3-4 more time each time yelling over her in a threatening manner. He stated that he would shut her computer down and erase all her files if she does not comply & follow directives. He claims his software is inside and gives him authority to her property. Today 10/01/15 at 12:16 pm he called again and I spoke with him politely asking that he remove the name and number from his calling lists to which he answered he would not because this was a customer account and there is no way for him to do that. He became aggressive quickly and demanded that I stop asking him to remove the name and to listen to his directives. I refused and hung up. I called PC Solutions at their number listed at 770.843.8696 and was directed to leave a message to which I did advising of this experience and complaint. I would appreciate that someone investigates this as they claim to be in Atlanta, GA. Thank you.
