Received letter unclaimed funds...knew it was scam

Scam email with an attachment was emailed trying to scam the company.

Scammer tried to give you website in order for you to track product you needed to give credit card info in order to track product

The call came from a private number telling me to contact this one: 844-762-1644 for further information. It was very threatening.

My mother received a call from this number that showed as a call from Phillipsburg, PA. When she answered, the person on the other end, asked "Are you Mrs ********?" and she responded "Yes" - then they promptly hung up. She then called the number back and the man who answered was clearly on a construction site and said - "I did not place any call this morning". The concern here is that the number was masked from a robocaller and that they now have a recording of her voice saying "Yes".

This is the Comcast Xfinity scam. Three phone numbers are involved here. We received a voice mail from a person pretending to be Comcast Xfinity, the utility that provides our TV and Internet. That voice mail came from the phone number 803-687-0730. The recorded voice of a woman asked us to return the call because the "promotional deal we had signed up for" months ago was "about to expire" and we needed to contact them now to "continue at a reduced rate". The recorded voice mail also said we needed to use this phone number: 855-558-0055. We thought we might have signed up for a promotional deal so we did make the call. At that number, we spoke to a man who apparently had an Eastern Indian accent. He was a good actor and made us believe he was reading from a prepared script and was working out of a call center. He offered us a great deal -- 50% off our bill for 3 years if we agreed to pay the first 6 months right now. He had detailed instructions. He gave us an "authorization code" for the deal and the phone number of the "Xfinity billing office" for us to call and give our "code" so that we could "initiate the promotional price". This third phone number is 888-326-2797. Then he told us the offer was sponsored by Target and we were to use our Target charge card, or a Target gift card. Then we immediately looked up this scam on the Internet, said good-bye, and hung up. Xfinity now tells us that this particular scam is rampant right now. We may have given the scammer our address, which is the personal information we may have lost, but we did not give him our account number. He just wanted gift cards.

Received a call asking if can be heard, when answered yes scammer hung up

I was asked to contact DHL and pay $355 for a consignment box

Wanted me to text outside of Facebook Marketplace place and provided their number because they don’t use Facebook. Once I did this they wanted to sent me a verification code to make sure I was real. I said no and blocked their number.

Asked me if I could hear them. Said they were from Medicare. I stupidly said yes

The scammer pretended to be my boss (I had just started at my new job - they got the information off my linkedin post) and asked if I could help with a favor. He needed to get three gift cards ahead of a meeting (my boss does give gifts to people ahead of meetings so I did not think it was that weird). However, he kept asking me to get more gift cards and put pressure on the time. I shoud have realized this was a fraud but I was trying to hurry up since it was taking long. Scammer also clearly playing into boss - new employee dynamic of trying to please the boss.

"Alex Degrassi" Facebook handle said he'd pay $250 initially for my BC Rich Warlock electric guitar, $600 total (to upgrade to a 'business acount' he had to send me an additional $350) via Zelle. He encouraged me to download Zelle so that he could "pay me" for a guitar I was selling. His English was choppy and would not chat live verbally to help me through alleged Zelle process and was unable to walk me through the 'process of sending back the $600" Phishing email came from [email protected], stating I was going to be reported to the FBI if not paid within 1 hour. He repeatedly could not explain to me how to send money to him through Zelle. My husband and I looked up phishing emails and this fit the bill, so we blocked them immediately.

Posed as National Enrollment Center and came up as a .net website when I was searching for personal health insurance. They gave me health insurance plans and collected information (name, address, phone number) and quoted me false health insurance plans

This number has been calling my landline phone a lot..every darn day..getting more frequent. I have never picked up to it..but they are relentless..and i wish they would stop.

Affordablehousinghub.org is bogus website posing as a government information website for low income housing, FHA housing assistance and section 8 vouchers. They use a fake phone number (855) 504-5101. No traceable business address. They steal information such as SSN and credit card information.

I received a letter in the mail stating my name and mailing address. They also described the vehicle I own. The letter says it's the Final Notice and I have to call them before 8/22/2023 otherwise they will revoke my eligibility for service coverage within 5 days. The language was very threatening and states "Private and Confidential". Can someone please find this scammer? I was reluctant to call and call my dealership to find out why I was receiving this evasive letter to my address. Luckily I didn't call. Thank you.

I enrolled on the website to find a room mate. I paid for my identity to be verified and a criminal background check. I also paid for "Spotlight" for 1 or 2 weeks. In total I spent about $70. I dont remember the figure exactly. Ill have to check.

About 7 people contacted me. After the 3rd person, something seemed off.

One person called me from a number. I gave them my address to view the property. When she didnt turn up I called the number I spoke to her on 3 hours prior. The message said the number had been permenently disconnected. This was the first tangible evidence I had that I was being scammed for my data location and information. Also, probably to drive engagement to the site. ROOMIES.COM IS A SCAM. STAY AWAY!
