Puppy Scam Reports & Reviews (605)

Reached out to the breeders via their website. Got an email back with videos/photos of a puppy I was interested in, and then they texted me. They wanted $800 for a puppy, lots of supplies, medical paperwork, chipping, AND flying the dog with a nanny from OH to NC. I asked about payment, they said it was up to me on $800 up front or a deposit of $500 and the rest after I got the puppy. That didn’t sit well. I asked if she would be up for a FaceTime to see the puppy, and she said she wasn’t “tech savvy” and couldn’t FaceTime but that I could trust the emailed content. I decided to reverse image search the picture on the website of her and her husband (“Lisa and Brad”), and the image is on Zazzle as an advertisement for a T-shirt you can buy. Immediately realized it was a scam. I hope no one else falls for it. They had also said they needed my full name, address, and Zelle info. I didn’t give it.

I found who I thought was a Newfoundland puppy breeder. I have purchased 3 of our dogs online and have never had an issue. The Breeder advertised under the site https://marketplace.akc.org/puppies/newfoundland. Now they have since suspended the account since I reported them yesterday. But they list pictures of puppies and you contact them with the one you may be interested in, he than emailed me more pictures along with 2 videos I paid them $1,000.00 via Zella to have the puppy flown to our area.

The next day I get an email from another scam fright shipping place named Air Competence Pet Delivery Service telling me due to the weather being hotter here than in CO I had to purchase and AC type crate for $1490.00 which they said was refundable once my puppy was dropped off, the email came from [email protected], which I will be filing a scam report on them as well. After I sent the money through Zella they than sent another email saying the dog needed some sort of shots to fly. This is when I knew something was not right since I've done this before. So I told them I was cancelling my order and to please refund my money back to my account and that's when you get radio silence.

Because the money was sent through Zella of course I cannot ever get it back. They wiped out my entire savings. We had just lost our dog 2 weeks ago and I was trying to surprise my husband with a new puppy which unfortunately is not going to happen.

I wanted to post this so it will not happy to anyone else.

On 13Sept22, I enquired via a Facebook post by Caucasian Shepherd Puppies for Rehoming, (CSPR) regarding the purchase of a dog. Our interaction is documented, (in its entirety) on Facebook Messenger.

As most breeders require a deposit to reserve an animal, CSPR requested a $200.00 down-payment. CSPR stated, "...the $200.00 down-payment is 100% refundable in the event you change your mind...". Moving forward, CSPR requested the $200.00 payment via CashApp under the name SRTLeek, (tag $SRTSwipe16). In continuance with our chat, details began to not add up. Within 1 hour, I requested a refund of the $200.00 payment, (both in writing and through CashApp)and reported fraudulent behavior on the CashApp application. CSPR agreed, (in writing) to refund the $200.00 payment in-full, but has refused to comply. I have since discovered; CSPR provided false documentation of names, addresses, phone number and other contact information.

Found website as I was looking for a Boston terrier puppies. Communicated via email and they sent me pictures of the dog I was interested in. Since I am in Florida I wanted to go visit the puppies before making a decision and they wanted a zelle deposit. The email address for zelle had nothing to do with the business name or the supposed owner. I did a little more research and the property address on contract is not listed to the owner Gerard Williams. I also cross referenced the pictures on google and found they had been used in 2020 on Facebook. The scammer sent me a picture of the dog with a sign with todays date and my name but it looked photo shopped. In the end I told them I wasn’t comfortable sending a zelle but will still be willing to go and see the pups and pay in cash at that time. Have not heard back from them since.

On 09/12/22 we had bought 2 Siberian Husky puppies from a kennel in Virginia. The puppies were being flown thru Charlotte International via VIP Pet Relocators. Once they were landed the company started demanding $1700.00 for crate charges then another $2,000 for insurance. We paid the crate charges but then when they demanded the insurance 4 hours later we refused. They sent pictures of the puppies at the airport and both were black instead of one male black Husky and one light brown female that we had bought We contacted the Kennel who said they were in contact with the transport agency and they were not returning their calls or returning the dogs as of today 09/15/2022.

This may all be a scam but if its not there are 2 puppies being held at the airport in who knows what condition.

Thank You

I paid $650.00 for a teacup poodle and $180.00 for it to be shipped. Was told that was all I need to pay for shipping . I have a sales contract also. The next day I was told I had to pay another $500 to have for my puppy Sissy shipped to me. It was a Scam. I didn’t get my money back or a puppy.

I contacted a website who sells pure bred boxer dogs under the name (www.superiorboxers.com) completed the process with the

seller and signed a contract to purchase 2 pure AKC certified boxers at $600.00 each. After completion of the registration process

seller sends me a tracking number via starwoodpettransport.com company. The company send an email requesting additional funds

for an electronic thermal crate for $1800.00 according to them fully refundable. Then the next day in order to receive the dogs they

send another request for $1980.00 according to them fully refundable for pet insurance in order to receive the dogs. THE DOGS

NEVER ARRIVED AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK.

Contacted this page and person to purchase 2 pure bred boxers at $600.00 each for a total of $1300.00 NEVER RECEIVED THE PUPPIES. I ALSO NEVER RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK.

Attempted to buy a malinois puppy from her but she insisted on credit card rather than Venmo or PayPal. Responded to me with a drivers license pic via text but address doesn’t match what my contract says.

They offered a Pomeranian puppy for $550.00 $50.00 delivery. I spoke to the man on the phone while the “female” instant messaged me. They wanted met to use Cashapp for a deposit and it warned me. So I bought Visa gift cards and they bullied and demanded I show info. I did they sent paperwork showing rehoming. Then her grandmother was hill and the puppy went to a delivery center. They sent tracking info but then demanded $350.00 for insurance. Kept bullying wanting Cashapp used said it was refundable. Refused to show a picture of the dog. Bullied me for days. While the other ones were begging me the dog was waiting, her grandmother had passed. I blocked the delivery service and when I demanded my money back they blocked me.

They requested a deposit 100.00, next day wanted another 100.00 for ownership papers, the next day wanted another 100.00 for insurance for a puppy I have not received yet. Now will not refund my money.

I was in search of a small dog for my child when I stumbled upon this website: helentoypoodles.com. I submitted on their website that I was interested in the puppy, Queen, advertised for sale for $500 + shipping. It all...sounded too good to be true. I received a text asking if I was still interested in "Queen" and I said, yes..please call me. Next text back was, "Where are you located?" I said, WI. Next text question was, "are you interested in shipping?" My response was I am open to it. After a few texts back and forth I called the 308-708-2260 number and left a voicemail. I received a call back and asked if I could talk to Helen. The masculine voice said Helen was his grandmother and had passed away. He said this was her business. He said the puppies were located in Gothenburg, Nebraska. I asked him to show evidence that this is not a scam. He said he promised this is not a scam. He told me to read the website testimonials. I asked why the puppies were 50% off and he said because of COVID. I asked for video footage of 'Queen' and he said their company does not do videos. He sent some picture perfect photos of 'Queen'. I told him I would not directly wire money, I would only pay by check or credit card so that there was a paper trail. He said I could stop and see the puppies. I texted him that I would drive to Nebraska to get the dog and asked for his address. That is when correspondence went cold on his end and he stopped corresponding. This is unacceptable. The website is very well done and this website and practice needs to stop immediately.

Claimed to be a dog breeder, breeding miniature sheepadoodles and giant sheepadoodles. Was not registered with bbb, would not send current vaccination records. Name did not match alleged breeders name with email address name and email for Zelle information. We did not send any money to the scammer. Website states available 24/7. Name used as alleged dog breeder Norma** ****, Zelle name ****** ***nt and email for Zelle A************@outlook.com

Talked to this lady several times, she sent pictures, she sent pedigrees. I paid her a $850 deposit to hold two Standard Poodle adults through PayPal, talked to her one more time after that, then she would return my calls or texts, didn’t get dogs, and didn’t get my money back. I have since found out she has done this to multiple people. I also contacted OK police as she listed an OK address.

I found a puppy website and this is definitely a pet scam. There is no contact information whatsoever on their website and the testimonials look defiitely fake. BEWARE.

Contacted Minipoodlepusforsale.com to purchase a toy poodle puppy. After making my choice, I was told to:

1) make the full payment upfront.

2) asked for the payment through Zelle.

3) the price was low for a pedigree (less than $750), and included the shipping charge.

4) I never did find a phone number or street address for them.

It seemed to good to be true and I guess it was, because after agreeing

to the payment (but just shy of sending it), I started to see multiple websites

stating that this was a dog breeding scam.

- Fort Meade, SD, USA

I "Bought" a Great Dane Puppy from what I believed was a legitimate breeder (milesgreatdanepuppies.com) for $750 + $150 for "shipping". I paid this through Zelle as required by the "breeder". The Breeder then told me that I would be contacted by the shipping company and that she used them exclusively. I received an email from the shipping company with flight information for my puppy to be delivered that night. I even checked the flight numbers/times and they were legitimate. Later that evening when the delivery time for the puppy had come and passed, I tried calling both the breeder and the shipping company - neither answered my call. I looked through my email and found that a subsequent email had been sent by the shipping company that they required a "special crate" and I could choose between two crates, one about $1200 and one about $1500 and that I had to pay that fee online and that upon delivery of the puppy that I would be refunded 95% of the crate fee in CASH upon delivery of the puppy. I called the shipping company again and did reach a gentleman with a very thick foreign accent, he was very vague, rude, and insisted I pay this fee. He told me that because I didn't respond to that email and get the special crate "for animal safety and COVID 19 reasons" that my puppy was at their facility in San Antonio and would not be released until I paid the crate fee. By this time I realized this was likely a scam. The conversation turned into a trainwreck from there and now I am out $900. I will also be making a ScamPulse.com complaint about the "breeder" that I believe is part of this scam.

- Auburn, ME, USA

I found this website and sent in a request for additional information about available puppy. He responded within 15 min with email responses. He also called me and sounded reputable. He asked normal questions and answered mine as well. He sent emails requesting additional information about my residence inquiring about safety of having a pet and prior knowledge about breed ( dachshunds). We then emailed and he provided photos of the puppy along with shipping information. We then texted regarding a deposit which I sent through Apple Pay. He provided an address in mass to pick up the puppy. Upon additional research, I realized this was a scam and contacted the person. He kept referring to his legitimate website. I then reported him to the fbi

"Robert" advertised as a registered breeder. He asked me questions I would expect to be asked by a breeder like: living conditions we would provide, previous experience with animals, other animals we had, etc. He had all the right answers for my questions too. When it came to the payment he wanted the money wired and the first account he gave me didn't work, I got nervous and asked to speak with him on the phone, I was surprised by an unexpected accent when he answered the phone but quickly dismissed it. I asked to see more pictures of the parents and he provided them. I moved forward with the payment and when the day came for us to receive our puppy I got a conformation from him with a shipping company. https://happytailslogistic.com/cargo-tracking/

I later received an email from Happy Trails Logistic telling me that the puppy was not in a temperature controlled electronic locking crate and that I would need to rent or buy one in order to proceed. The email listed 3 options for crates and listed acceptable payment methods, all of which were wire transfers. I called the number on the web site and spoke to someone with a similar accent to "Robert". When I asked to speak to a manager he told me he was the only person there...

I then asked where he was located, he said Texas. Then I asked what time it was in Texas and he couldn't tell me.

Found on hoobly.com he said he had a puppy. We talked friday night and Saturday morning. He wanted money through cash app. I do not have it my friend sent the money and after they got the money correspondence stopped and number was no longer in service for me but my neighbors got him to text the same information about the same puppy.
