a MAN CALLED AND THREATENED ACTION IF I DID NOT CALL BACK OR GO ONLINE TO SETTLE A DEBT. WHEN I PUT THE WEBSITE IN MY LAPTOP, I DISCOVERED IT WAS A SCAM.

- Euless, TX, USA

The voice mail said they were a debt collector, without mention of a person or a company. They said go to their website, rcapay.com, and I would be entitled to a discount for paying the debt up front. I don’t know what amount was being requested or by whom. I just blocked the caller ID, and deleted the call and the message.

- Jacksonville, NC, USA

Voice mails only from a live person

They not only left multiple voice messages to on my phone but also called my mother in law. Highly unethical. They use a different phone number every call and there is no way to talk to a real person. There is nothing legal about their tactics.

Requesting call or pay online for a debt

- Florence, AL, USA

I was left a voice message to go to rcapay.com to solve a debt collection. I do not have any outstanding debts.

- Shiner, TX, USA

tired of these phone calls. I know this is a scam.

not sure of the state  really I don’t know where it came from. It was just a phone call.

- West, TX, USA

Audio recording of a man who identified himself as Kevin with Receivables Collection Associates, LLC. He said that he was attempting to collect a debt on behalf of unnamed clients for a delinquent account. He invoked the law in his words but he never said the name of the person who the message was supposedly for. He said the debt could be paid online at rcapay.com and also gave a phone number but I did not write it down.

- Pittsburg, KS, USA

The scammer called, identifying themselves as RCAPay.com, claiming they were a collections agency trying to recover debt. They provided no relevant confirmatory information, including who that debt was from, how much was owed, etc. Further, I do not owe anyone money and have never taken out any debt of any kind.

- Huntsville, AL, USA

Scammer states my outstanding bill with Bank of America is over $5041.16 and can be resolved with payment of $1512.35. They do not state the origin of the charges. I don’t have this account. Of course there is no one to talk to. I can pay either by phone or on the website. This is a scam.

- Mena, AR, USA

I have been receiving various calls from different numbers, across two states leaving voice mail messages claiming to be a debt collection company called Receivables Credit Associates, LLC (RCA). The tone was professional-sounding, and was claiming to offer me a chance to claim a discount on my credit debt and that it was an attempt to “resolve this matter before further collection efforts.” They repeatedly informed me to use RCApay.com for payment. My initial reaction was why would one company call me with multiple residential phone numbers? I have only one debt and therefore did nothing. This smells of a scam and my number is listed on the Do Not Call registry.
