It was a "say yes" scam. They have been calling the last 2 days. I finally picked up, they asked if it was me, and I completely forgot & said "yes."

My info is out on the dark web, due in part to the Att beach a couple years ago. I do have a fraud alert at credit bureaus, but am still worried.

I believe I was targeted by the "yes" scam. I received a phone from "the vets" and immediately the man asked if I would like to be taken off their list. I, of course without thinking said, YES. After I hung up I checked my caller I.D. and saw that the number had no area code but said it was from Brandywine, WV. I called the number using the 304 area code. It was a recording with the very first part of the message cut off asking if you would like to be removed from their mailing list, leave your full name, phone number and address. It took me off guard and I don't know exactly what a scammer could do with a recorded "yes" in my voice, but I felt it worth reporting because it reeks of scam. Thank you!

Dominic called and asked if I was (used my first name) and I said YES. (now, I'm worried, because I know better) I didn't get the company name, but he said he was going to help me with my back taxes, he was with the IRS and I just kept saying no after he said that. then he said, you don't have any back taxes, I said NO, then he hung up. I tried to call that number back, and low and behold it rings once and goes silent, then disconnects. I only answered, because caller ID said APPT REMINDER. I do have some appt's coming up. Will let the machine pick up from now on... Nervous to think he has a recording of me saying YES. What did I do???

A woman very quickly asked if I could hear her. I asked who it was and was immediately hung up on. I think they were trying to get me to say ‘yes’ so they could record my voice to authorize things over the phone

Called from a number in my area code, under a caller ID of a cosmetic business I frequent. The man (American accent) addressed me by name and then the call got muffled. I have an upcoming appointment with the business the caller ID was from, so I stayed on the line and said I couldn't hear them well. The man came closer to the phone and asked if I could hear him, to which (unfortunately) I answered "yes." The man immediately hung up the phone. I called the number back and realized I was scammed. The number called me again a few hours later to which I blocked it.

I filled out an online form looking for pest control from the All Star Pros Pest Control Website that had a link to a general form to fill out for an quick estimate. I received a call today from someone that I felt very uneasy with over the phone. The person had a very heavy accent and was difficult to understand. They asked me questions about what I needed regarding the pest control. They claimed their name was a different company. They wanted me to make a verbal agreement on the phone by saying yes or I agree. That was super weird. They then put me on the phone with a second person who also was very difficult to understand. I asked them where the company was based out of and they didn't give me an answer at first and just said all over. Then they said from Colorado. I told them I didn't want to do business with anyone unless I can meet the person and knew they were local. I left the call. Since my phone call, my phone has been ringing off the hook from unrecognized numbers. This so called "fake" company has sold my phone number to who knows who and I strongly believe they are scammers trying to get money and more information. I am really worried now that whatever information that I have already given them, I am afraid of what they are doing with it? Please beware of this website!!!

I had contacted caring.com a few weeks ago, and had a couple conversations with them. When the caller ID came up with the word "Caring" I answered the phone. The woman said, "Is this ****?' to which I replied 'Yes" and the woman hung up. I was recently notified by ATT that my information had been compromised and was offered Equifax protection, which I have initiated. I think it was an 800 number that called, but when I pushed the redial button, it came up with a local number, which I called, and to which there was no answer.

Say yes scam was used by caller

I think it was part of the “can you hear me” scam. It was the first thing they asked when I picked up the phone. I accidentally said “yes”. And then they started to ask information about my house. I hung up. I then called the number back but the voicemail stated that the number wa actually (419) 467-6491 (not 618-227-9281 that showed up on caller ID).

Although I have not lost any money YET, it may have recorded my voice to make orders.
