Counterfeit Coupons by mail
I thought it to be a great deal having no idea that I was purchasing counterfeit coupons until I noticed that retail stores in some cases stopped accepting them and in others changed their system to mark them as invalid when once they went through fine.
As I saw the store changing how they handled these coupons over time a red flag went up and I began to try and understand what was going on here. One company BJ's did claim their were fraud. Most companies were glad to accept them so I ignored their complaint given all other companies didn't consider them that way though some stores scanned them as invalid.
It became more and more of a hassel to use these coupons in stores that once was hassel free or almost. So I called a couple manufacturers's like Silk and Oceanspray.
I told them about these coupons and asked them if they would ever issue such a coupon with such a high amount off. Ocean spray told me the largest coupon coming from them would be .55 cents certainly not any large amount like $6.99.
Silk informed me the most they ever issued was up to $5.99 and that was only if you called them directly and they would issue one coupon every 6 months and that was it.
I have attached coupons that were supposedly issued by the manufadcturer for both silk and ocean spray in the amount of up to $6.99 off. I couldn't detect anything suspicious about them however the two things that convinced me they were counterfeit was
1. Stores stopped readily accepting them and some just wouldn't period.
2. the manufacturer themselves stated that they would never issue such an amount off
3. I was told that any coupon one had to pay for should be alarm bells right there regardless of the price
4. these manufacturer's said you can only get the genines on one or two sites at the most certainly not this one.
5. The site I bought them off of has no way of contacting them except an email address that shows up on paypal receipt which gives a gmail address.
Hopefully this will be helpful information for tracking down these people and taking them offline so other genuine couponers, retail stores as well as consumers do not get ripped off or fooled by these coupons sent to you via snail mail vis usps that look authentic and genuine but are anything but.
