Seth Graham, was hired by me, back in March, to install an above ground pool, based off referral from Aquaquip pool store, was told he is not actually employee for them, but does their pool installs and other work. He came out in March, total of 3 times, and worked a total of 11 hours. First time here, he did not bring his crew, like he said he would, and me and a friend here had to help because only person that came with him was his girlfriend, and the 4 of us took down pool wall. Second trip here, he used my friends equipment to level the ground, because he claimed his truck was not running good and was afraid to haul his trailer and equipment with it. Then, 3rd and final visit, he put pool wall up, again with my help, and 2 of my friends helping, because he did not bring a full crew. He was supposed to return to finish the entire job, which included, repositioning the support stones, which were not done properly, putting in liner, and hooking up all pool equipment. He never came back. He said he had installment plan and he needed the next pre-payment, which was $4000, and paid by two separate Venmo transfers. I asked several times for receipts, copy of his contract, etc, and never got them, he would text me back saying he was man of his word. Advance forward to June, now there was weeds in pool, leveling support stones had holes around them and track system has no dirt under it now, from job not being done properly, rain, dirt settling etc. He was supposed to be here June 29, to finish, and he did not show up, nor did he answer any calls or texts. I reached out to Aquaquip for their help and asked if they had issues with him or complaints from any other customers. He finally answered a text on July 8, which was my last contact from him, saying he was on vacation and when he returned he would come finish my pool and it would be done by end of July. I also asked for my refund of the pre-payment if he was not returning but he said he was not issuing a refund because he would be back. August, I reached out again, no answer from him. And, now it is end of Sept. I have not heard from him, nor I have I received any refund. I know he has been doing jobs still with Aquaquip, he told me this and Aquaquip employees did as well, but I can not find any business license for him and he has had violations in past and never renewed his electrician license. He gave me many excuses during the 5 mos for not coming, weather delay, forgot it w[censored]iday, forgot he had his kids, there was a death, truck broke down, another truck broke down, he was on swim spa job, he was on electrical job, he was doing pool, he was doing concrete, phone broke; furthermore, he claimed that I was not providing entrance into property because of my dogs, which was false because he had gate controller that would allow him inside and I had friend reaching out to him as well, that was willing to meet him if he wanted help with dogs, etc. This man is a fraud, and has been doing jobs without any state WA license, including electrical work. I want my money refunded; however, after researching filing a claim in small claims court, even if I won the case, there is no way to enforce him to return my money, and costs of hiring a collection firm company or attorney to help would be even more costly. Even though, I paid him $4000 in advance, it costs me over $800 to rectify the work he did not do properly or issues that arose from not returning.
