www.Paypal.com rejected the invoice.
At the bottom of PayPal's landing page the following phrase " if you do not recognize this Seller please call 888-355-
4180" - contacted number.
I was told they would reimburse my acct where the fraud was done, they asked me to check my Business
Acct of my bank- there was a "pending charge" of $1,499.99 for an iPhone purchase.
They asked me to run RFL software so I could reimburse my acct.
When I typed in $1,499.99, it did not take the decimal and credited (supposedly) my business acct
$149,999.00- I found out today because I did not think to look that it actually swiped funds out of my
savings and put it into my business account. So there was no real credit to my business acct just a
movement of "My Funds"
I was asked by this person David Way who said he was with PayPal Phone numbers are as follows : 805-
980-2884 and 805-318-7820 that I needed to make 2 wire transfers , one of $80,990.00 and the 2nd of
$67,509.01 to the bank info provided earlier in this - To Hong Kong to fix the problem- issue.
I went to my lender and asked them to make the first wire transfer on 2/9/2023, the wire went out.
On 2/10/2023: the perpetrator David Hay ( so he calls himself and he is from India- decent) texted me
with a message saying "We had a problem with your first wire it was blocked, so we need you to do 2
more" This red-flagged me and I called PayPal and asked them if the phone number I had called off their
website was legit - the Number was 888-355-4180, PayPal said No this is not a PayPal phone number.
Paypals Correct number is 888-221-1161, so the scammers hijacked the PayPal site somehow, and nobody
would ever know its not PayPal, because I logged into their site and figured it was accurate- It was not.
I have a VM saved on my phone from the perpetrator, also I have saved texts from him on My Google
Drive - This is one text from him "Hi sir this is David Hay one more time I just wanna say Sir Call me
tomorrow at 10am in your time , if I am not able to call me then call me on this number only thanks you
so much what you did today for me Sir may god bless you may you live long with Smile , see you
Tomorrow bye for now"
Horizon Bank my bank as instituted a "Recall" on the wire and we are trying to get my $80,990.00 back
JPM Chase was the intermediary receiver of this and they have notified my bank they have seen the recall. It
is Friday on 2/10/2023 : @ 1:57pm ,
**The 2nd wire they wanted was for $67,509.01, IT WAS FROZEN and I did not send it because we figured
out what was going on**
