Type of a scam: Advance Fee Loan

Translation scam

Skyline Publishers and LewisTrust banking finance online website both scammed me $550 just for IMF code fee, connecting accounts fee and currency exchange fee. They promised me that I would get my money in my local bank account as long as I pay for the fees that they requested. So, I did what they’ve told me and when I was about to receive my money, they said that the withdrawal was approved but I have to pay for $550 IRS tax fee. They scammed me a lot and now I’m broke and I have no money left with me. I worked with them as a translator so I translated my project from English to Indonesian language. And, until now, nothing happened. They insisted on me to pay for the IRS fee or else my withdrawal will not be in my local bank account. So, please I report this matter, make well-known about this scam so that other people won’t be victims like me. Thank you.

The owner was contacted by a rep for Skyline Publishing. We are a new business and what they were offering an advertising on the back of a local map that they publish. At first the rep said that it would cost $300 then Tony stated that as a new business we could not afford that. So the rep then offered the very low rate of $200 and that he would drop the price as his boss was pressuring him to get a repair shop on the map as a ad that is why he could give us this deal. My boss then said ok. Well we received the invoice and it was for advertising on a Aberdeen County South Carolina 2016-2017 map. I then called the customer service number listed on the invoice. I told the rep that we could not advertise in South Carolina a we are from the city Aberdeen South Dakota. The rep stated that she would have customer service give us a call. The whole time I was on this call there were background noises that sounded like they were in a personal home. Loud music and hollering. Something sounded fishy. So I looked them up here and see that it is a scam. Customer service did call and I stated to them that we felt this was a scam and that we would not want an ad in South Carolina. She was argumentative with me. I again stated that we did not want any advertising and that we would not be paying this billing. Again she argued with me. I eventually hung up on her and called the ScamPulse.com of South Dakota. The very nice Rep there read to me the complaint they had on file. This is a scam do not buy into it.
