Initially robocaller had voice recording that I have a warrant out for my arrest due to social security fraud and to call 857-208-7359. When I called the number, I told a that I knew it was a scam and I will be reporting them. He laughed and hung up. Neither the voice recording or the person who answered my call said who they were calling that was in trouble. I did not give them any info.

This number has called me multiple times today saying that they are from the Social Security Admin. Clearly a scam when I called them back to ask them to stop calling me, they became very rude and started harassing me. Asked to stop calling they said that they would never stop. I hung up on them.

- Lake Odessa, MI, USA

Called me 3 times and said that my Social Security has a freeze and being investigated for fraud.

Says your ssn is compromised and shut off

An automated voice left a message on my phone saying that due to fraudulent activity, my social security number had been suspended. The voice said I could press "1" to resolve the issue. I did not return the call.

- Waco, TX, USA

I received a call today from 602 529-3518, claiming to be from Social Security Administration. The recording indicated that my social security number had been compromised and that I needed to call or press 1 to speak with and officer.

Knowing that it was a scam, I played along, pressed 1 and spoke to someone with an accent. He asked for my name and social security number, I asked who was he trying to reach. He called out a name, of which I told him that he had the wrong number.

He then asked for my name, my response was he should know who he is calling. He asked for my name again, I asked him who was he calling.

He then became angry that I would not provide him with my name, cursed and hung up.

This is a news worthy warning piece that should be aired and made available because there are some, especially seniors who will fall for this.

- Wyoming, MI, USA

- Overland Park, KS, USA

Phone number has called my cell phone several times a day for the last week. They leave an automated message or if you answer it is an automated recording. They state that my social security number and account have been suspended due to suspicious activity and to contact them right away. When I call back sometimes the call does not go thru, sometimes a live person answers. There is a lot of noise in the background. When I state that the call sounds fraudulent they hang up.

I received a voicemail from the social security administration claiming someone in another state was using my social security number. They wanted me to give them a call back. I did not call them back.

- Indiahoma, OK, USA

the person’s Social Security number (SSN) “has been suspended for suspicion of illegal activity,” and the person should contact a provided phone number immediately to resolve the issue. The call concludes by stating if the person does not contact the provided phone number, the person’s assets will be frozen until the alleged issue is resolved.
