Subscription Scam Reports & Reviews (36)

- Buford, GA, USA

Offered free legal sale documents on line. Charged $1.99 for document. Then charged $39.99 for monthly services not requested or approved. Total Fraud!

- Decatur, GA, USA

I signed on to my CVS website to renew a prescription. Immediately a screen popped up, saying "Take a survey, and get a free gift". I took the survey -- very brief -- how do you like CVS? and then was shown an array of gifts that would be "free, with only shipping and handling charge". I chose an electric massager, with S&H about $7. I received it yesterday, and it works well. But this morning I saw a charge for $67.43 on my VISA, with the name "THEQUALITYGREATDEALSGA" and phone number 844-960-7543. I called that number, and the lady said that in the "terms and conditions" I had agreed to a monthly charge of $67.43 for access to some service. Like most online shoppers, I hadn't read the fine print in the terms and conditions. I demanded to be disenrolled from their service, and demanded a refund. After much arguing, she agreed to disenroll me, and refund me about $26.

I reported it to CVS, and they said it was a scam that somehow had infected their website. They'll be investigating it, but suggested that I also report it to you.

This company tried take $19.99 out of my account after I canceled the subscription. Luckily I have my account locked for scammers like this. Of course I sent them a message from their website, informing them of what happened only for them to contact me after two more attempts to withdraw my money from account, to inform me that their system attempts to collect the subscription price twice more before cancelling automatically. That my subscription is truly and they are sorry. This company is not to be trusted.

There was/is an add on Facebook, offering a chance to win a Coleman tent. There is a short survey and a small charge for shipping and handling. Buried in the terms and conditions there is a hidden monthly subscription agreement. The charge showed up on my statement as “durableextremelectro” with a contact number of 8556910219. I called the number and cancelled my subscription. After informing the 3rd party representative I planned to contact the authorities they agreed to refund half of what they charged my card and offered me $250 in gift cards if I agreed not to pursue legal action. I declined the gift cards.

I received an email that said they were charging my account for $327 for a GS toolkit pro and that I should contact them within 12 hours if I wanted to cancel this for a complete refund. There was no company name or website on the email.

I foolishly clicked (google) on a "free trial" offer for skin care products. The offer stated that I only pay for shipping. I received the offer in a few days and just two days later I see in my bank account a charge for $129.49. I immediately called the number provided and of course got a woman of whom I could barely understand telling me that I have an account with them. I told her I was not interested and to refund my money. She said she could only refund half the amount. I explained that I had already paid for the shipping for the trial and that I do not want half but a full refund for the added charge. Not really knowing what she was saying, I asked to speak to her supervisor. I was told that person was not available. Apparently, I agreed somewhere along the way to have a subscription for this product of which I hardly tried before being charged the full amount. I then find the same product on Amazon for under $40! I will be calling again today to cancel this subscription and so far my credit union has not put this through on my account (debit card) yet. Hopefully I can stop the transaction and I will then cancel my Debit card and pay for a new card. Big lesson learned. "Free Trial" means a subscription!

I subscibed to xxl-reloading.com to unlock load data for reloading, after i purchased i was still locked out and could not access. I exhausted all avenues to resolve this and felt i had to warn others that this is a scam

I received an email that said they were grateful that I chose them as my service provider and that I owed them for my GS ultimate toolkit annual subscription. I needed to call the number within 48 hours if I wished to cancel the transaction.

I was unknowingly signed up for a regular subscription of 5 bottles at $199.88 about every 6 weeks! I would caution you to purchase this item in a "walk in" store and NOT online. There is no legitimate way to contact the company. That in itself makes me question their business ethics.

- Mount Pleasant, MI, USA

Said it would be one price and over charged my account by $200.00

I was billed $19.99 x 3 in Canadian funds Total of $ 77.88 on February 13th, for a service I NEVER subscribed to, or authorized.

I added a google play app on my phone. I did not subscribe or purchase anything on the app. I was not interested in whatever they were selling, so I deleted the app immediately. The somehow used my credit card that was on file with google play, to charge me $19.99 monthly for a service I did not authorize.

This is the 2nd time they charged my credit card. I emailed the company numerous times, and no response

- Gaylord, MI, USA

I was billed $39.95 a month for 4 months before I noticed it. They claim I purchased a book from them and it came with a monthly membership for ebooks. I never heard of the "Back to basics study guide" they said I ordered, I never received a book, I never ordered a book! This is a scam or my identity was stolen by them! If I had ordered a book and accidentally signed up for a membership I would admit my mistake and take my losses, but they book they described to me is not something I would even be interested in!

Charged my card several times and the only explanation I received was it was for a subscription. They couldn't tell me the subscription nor any other information. I hadn't noticed sooner because it was a small amount $2.99. But when I looked at my records they had charged it several times.

- Atlanta, GA, USA

When I answered the phone a auto recording stated that I have a subscription and will be charged $799 to my account or card within 24 hours if I don’t cancel.

There was a choice to press #1 to cancel via the phone call. I pressed #1 then a recorded voice told me to hold while being transferred to a representative. After the recorded message ended, the call ended.

I called the phone number back and someone answered the phone. I told them they just called me about a subscription and they immediately hung up the phone.

This is a sure scam!
