Sent me an email saying my global entry was to expire. I clicked a link that took me to a form (looked like a government form with Global Entry logo). Entered passport info, global entry number, credit card number for payment.

Email solicitation to renew Global Entry Membership. They collect personal information that, upon reflection, they should not need. They only take debit cards and not credit cards. Their wording is overly polite and not in keeping with expected U. S. Border and Customs Enforcement tone - no offense, but just saying. The renewal was too early by nearly 6 months. It probably should have been a .gov email extension instead of .com. My wife renewed as well, so the damage is times 2. I later found out from my debit card provider that the money went to Lithuania. I don’t think Homeland Security has a branch there. Please beware, because the solicitation looks rather convincing. They even send multiple thank you followups with invitations to contact them with any issues!
