I fell for an ad on Facebook offering LOWA shoes on clearance. I clicked thru to the website, they used the LOWA logo, made themselves look like the LOWA website, and called themselves LOWA USA clearance. I made a purchase, and received a confirmation email. I had a mistak in my order which i wanted to correct. i have sent a mail to [email protected] to cancell my order and quickly answered. how ever i have realized that i have 4 charges in the bank of 45.99$ which i did not make. i went into the internet looking for the bussines named Theoduo Leggins LLC and saw it might be a scam. i wrote an e mail to cancell all my orders and get a refund and did not get an answer yet. the total amount was 180$. i have cancelled my credit card so no futur charg will go thruogh.

I fell for an ad on Facebook offering Hoka shoes on clearance. I clicked thru to the website, they used the Hoka logo, made themselves look like the Hoka website, and called themselves Hoka USA clearance. I made a purchase, and received a confirmation email, but then quickly realized that this is not Hoka and not an authorized Hoka retailer. There was an email address supplied for any questions with the order. I wrote to the email and requested to cancel the order and have the charges reversed. I received the reply: “Sorry, the package is already in transit and cannot be canceled at the moment.” And nothing else. The confirmation email does include links that say “view your order” and “visit our store”, but no way to track the order. I don’t want to click on any links in case there’s malware involved. My credit card company can’t do anything because I authorized the payment and the company claims my order is in transit.

I'm still trying to get my money back through American Express.When you dispute a charge, your credit card company should reach out to the company in question, and the company in question should send the credit card company proof that the package was delivered. At least that's what American Express did in my case. So Theoduo Leggins sent American Express the tracking number and then American Express forwarded me that information. So I typed it into the USPS site, and yes, that tracking number came up as being delivered. But the information given by the USPS website was only the city and the zip code to which it was delivered. Not my street or street address. So I contacted USPS and they told me that the confirmation code was actually for a different address, but with the same zip code. They also informed me that the package only weighed 8oz... remember I ordered 5 pairs of shoes. These people are elaborate. They knew the credit card company would stop looking into my claim once they sent them a tracking number. So they send some bogus package (the cheapest at 8 oz). They pay a buck to get a confirmation code, and then keep whatever you sent them. They're getting away with it because the money they're taking away from people is considered small. But when they're doing it to thousands people. I think a lot of this responsibility should also be placed on these social media platforms that advertise these scam artists without properly vetting them.
