Universal Engraver Reports & Reviews (56)

This product is underrated by many. With proper knowledge of product assembly and slicing, it works like a pro.

Engraves wood to perfection.

More than value for money.

This engraver is just awesome! Took me around an hour to assemble using a YouTube tutorial as the provided leaflet was slightly confusing. Had one spring missing though. But got it delivered within a day. Awesome support. Keep it up, guys!

Absolute worst! Sends acrylic cut parts from a dirty lens! all the holes and acrylic parts were cut at an angle, not allowing any assembly to line up correctly. You will never get a live person, the instructions sent DO NOT match any parts you have even though they say to use the same instructions for "your" ordered item. It is not possible and we have multiple more parts than in video instructions. Having to go through Paypal for refund and escalation process. Be wary of a company you cannot leave a review any google review. They have no official address listed and therefore makes it impossible to leave an review to help warn fellow consumers. The reviews in their website are not real.

!UPDATE- THE COMPANY SENT A VIDEO THAT WE ARE POSTING ON YOUTUBE FOR OUR MODEL SPECIFICALLY. 1500MW BlueLight. BLACK FRAME. Get a friend to help, it goes faster. Color of laser wires don’t match BUT easy to figure out. We have not tried to use laser as of yet. Will post again review on laser quality itself.

Purchased a laser engraver from their company. According to the website, it would engrave pretty much anything. After a horrendous set up video, we began trying out different materials. It will engrave wood, does pretty rough cutting on plastics, will not engrave metal what so ever. Well they have a money back guarantee so says the website. So I contact them regarding a return. After weeks of going back and forth, they offer to just send me another laser. Well that has never shown up either. They are a scam. Stay away.

After reading through all the other universal engraver complaints I feel as if everyone has experienced the same thing. First the website shows tons of positive reviews, says they are a North American company. The laser shipped from Hong Kong in a million little pieces with no instructions. Just a video that is filmed at a horrible angle that shows nothing. The parts look cheap and what is in the box doesn’t appear to look like anything in the picture I purchased. I emailed them and told them I want return. They keep assuring me the laser is easy to assemble and to down load an app to talk to an engineer but they are never available and only email at 2 am. I have filed a grievance with PayPal and pray that I get my money back. I have a little hope that so many people have filed the same thing that I will get something. Shame on Google for even letting this company be listed but I guess for them it’s all about the ad money!

Purchased a 3000mw blue cnc laser engraver on 11-24-21as a Christmas present. Opened it about a week before Christmas, assembled it via YouTube video (because there were no real instructions or software that came with the unit) and have been trying ever since to get software. Have called many times, all at various times of the day, have emailed many times and have had no luck. I am frustrated to the point all I want to do is sent it back and get my money back.

Ordered the 15000 laser with the rotary and Z Kit engraver tools (total of three separate items or so I thought). Box had all three tools lumped together and NOTHING labeled as to what was what tool. A single sheet of paper with the parts list. Long story short same as a lot of others, bad video with broken English, in some instances no words just pointing to a specific piece, and in both videos the assembler had already combined some pieces "to save time". They would also refer to specific pieces by their part #. Screw M3 this screw M4, unfortunately there was nothing on this single sheet of paper that broke out the parts by their part # that way. The third tool, the Z Kit, only had 10 pictures, no video (see attached 2 of the pics from the "assembly instructions") It's been over a month that I've been fighting with them for a refund or better instructions. Video one has you put together the frame and attach the laser and wiring into the wiring harness. Video 2 shows you how to connect those wires to the control box which is attached on the frame. Funny, but putting the control box together and attaching it to the frame was not in either video. Just a completed picture of it, and another showing it attached to the frame! They're answer for "live support" is a Whatsapp conversation which is between myself in the central time zone and someone somewhere else as their answers seem to come in between 12am and 5am Central Time.

I have no idea if anything works or not. I cannot even get the control board put on the frame, I'm guessing I've used the wrong screws or nuts or something or other. :(

I've opened a case with PayPal and had it escalated twice. So in 8 days I should hear back on that. I'll keep fighting.

Item listed as a plug and play device with no mention of assembly requirements in the advertising. Package arrived with a small card containing a link to a video. Video is poor quality and the device being assembled is not the same as the one ordered. The angel of the video and the distance it is shot from makes it near impossible to follow. Verbal directions are in broken English and difficult to understand. This device requires extensive assembly with lots of parts. There is no instruction manual or step by step guide provided to facilitate assembly. The linked video is useless in my opinion. Attempts to contact customer support were answered with multiple disclaimers. This is a shoddy operation at best and the machine is not as advertised. I sent it back in original condition in original packaging to the affiliated business in Wyoming, certified mail with return receipt. Customer support for Universal informed me that "there is no warehouse" in Wyoming but the package was accepted there. I have filed a claim with PayPal and hope to get back all or some of the $699.00 I paid. This is a shoddy operation at best and a scam at worst. Terrible customer service and misleading advertisement. I would not recommend anyone buy their product. I was able to purchase an NEJE device for a third of the cost that is fully supported and works great.

I still can't find software -- and they said they'd ship within 1-3 business days and it didn't get shipped until day 9. Their customer service is so rude. When I asked about anything, they told me to calm down? I was just asking a question. No software at all, and I can't even believe I got it together with that HORRIBLE video. Wish I saw this page before I purchased, I don't know what to do now.

Has anyone found their address. After going back and forth with no real response, we are just sending it back to their corporate office via UPS with no RA (which I have told them). I looked in their Privacy Policy which is required by law to have a physical address - but it doesn't only a phone number or via facebook (which they also don't answer). The policy yesterday said that they were affiliated with a company that started with "I" in Sheridan, WY and of course I didn't write it down and now their policy has changed. I HATE THIS COMPANY...

I found it. Isenchel LLC. 30 N. Gould St. Suite R, Sheridan, WY 82801. They are affiliated with Universal Engraver. I am sending it directly to this address with tracking and signature required. If you look at their facebook, it says that they are located in Sheridan, WY. I will let you know how it goes!

What can I say? My experience with Universal Lazer Engraver has the same results as everyone above. No service, no support, no instructions, no art downloads. Even thought my cost was under 500.00, this company is really a big SCAM. What is worse, I went to GOOGLE to find this machine. I would have thought GOOGLE might have put a warning out or removed them from any sales on the internet. Shame on GOOGLE and the mighty dollar. Looking for another engraver right now. Terry

Literally everything described in all the complaints listed here happened to me as well. I'm still fighting with them as we speak. I've filed a complaint with my credit card company (Discover), who did reimburse me and are pursuing their own fraud case. I'm posting as often as I can on their facebook page, but you have to be careful what you type or it won't post because the algorithm picks up on certain words like scam, fraud, terrorist, thief, etc...and it won't let it post. So, you just have to get creative with your posts. I wish I had seen this page before I purchased this POS! Currently, I have a laser sitting in my workshop absolutely useless. I think I'll turn it into a retro picture frame or maybe make a planter out of it.

A little information on the laser engraver: We bought ours from Universal Engraver and it was a TERRIBLE experience. It took forever to arrive, came via China and Japan (even though the website makes it appear to be a North American company). The motherboard was faulty, so the y-axis didn’t function. I attempted to contact them by phone (no answer - ever), tried their robot online chat (thanks for nothing, “Gary”!), multiple emails (increasing in frustration), and finally we bought a replacement motherboard from another company that Darren had to totally rewire to get it to function with our machine. It also came with no assembly instructions whatsoever and no instructions on how to use the software. They also do not honour the additional warranty we purchased, because you literally cannot get ahold of them after purchasing. Absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully, Darren is smart with electronics and persistent. I would have thrown it in the dumpster a few months ago and counted it as a $1500 loss!
So, if you’re looking for a CNC laser engraver, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY:

My experience with Universal Engraver! Some of their videos you have access to do not even play the video, you just have audio because they are encoded wrong! But, a couple of the videos, you can actually see, are VERY hard to follow! I can’t get my laser machine to even work and I can’t get ANY SUPPORT! I have left multiple messages on their so called support number, 1-607-224-5666 that just gives you the message that all the representatives are currently busy and to leave a message and no one returns your calls! I have used the so called online 24-7 virtual “Chat” (Adam) whom just tells you to email [email protected] and their engineering team will personally assist me! Which I have done multiple times! They reply to use “WhatsApp” and ping +91876-638-7120! Yeah, the number doesn’t even look right and no it is not! They BOTH email you back after 1 am central time with NO help at all in the emails! I have a white socket on the circuit board for the green & black wires to get plugged into that is totally reversed from the one in the video of how to attach them. So, the video shows and tells you the green wire on top and black wire on the bottom…mine only plugs in with the black (negative) on top and green (positive) on the bottom! Completely opposite of how it is supposed to be so their software (which is a total pain in the butt to get installed) doesn’t read my laser machine properly! TOTALLY USELESS! TOTALLY! I have attached a screen shot of the video of their green and black wires on their circuit board (green positive on top-black negative on bottom and a picture of my green and black wires that are reversed when plugged into the white socket. You can clearly see my white socket is facing a different direction compared to theirs and that is why my wires are reversed (black negative on top and green positive on the bottom)! A lot of money spent ($699.95 minus a $30.00 discount…$669.95) for this machine that you can’t even get to work! So not worth the headaches!

For those of you who purchased from this "company" using PayPal, don't give up, we persisted and PayPal got our money back from these scammers! We had screen shots of our chats with them and other screen shots from their deceitful website.

We spend $269 on the engraver during Black Friday, when the engraver finally came, we managed to get the engraver assembled despite the horrible instructions, but the company refused to send us the software needed to run it on Mac computers. Seems like a simple request yet they refused, they proceeded to block our phone number and our IP address. We know this because the chat on the website disappeared, so we had a friend log on and the chat was there for them. So we decided to turn off wifi on our phones and go to the website using cellular data and sure enough the chat was there. My husband started chatting with someone and as soon as he started bringing up the issues and gave them our email address the person in the chat completely ghosted him. We used those chat screen shots as evidence with PapPal. The process was long, but in the end we won! Please don't give up, these scammers need to stop getting away with this.

The dispute is Universal Engraver will not honor their warranty. There warranty is posted on the about us page and the product page is: We're so convinced you'll love our products - we offer 100% free worldwide shipping on many items; and also a 100% satisfaction warranty. Don't enjoy something that you purchased? Tell us, and we'll be delighted to issue a full refund. Their refund policy is totally different. Basically, they will not give a refund for any reason: Buyer no longer wants the items or does not meet the expected results, difficulty in assembling the laser or difficulty in software usage - this is the most common example which we cannot honor if we want to continue offering great value at Universal Engraver. In no case the laser will be refunded if the laser is working absolutely fine and buyer expected laser to do more. In no case laser will be refunded if buyer has not sent any video to inspect the problem. I have explained to them and sent them videos that I am not happy with the machine and it is not working fine. The original complaint on 1/7/2021 was poor software, slow speed engraver. I escalated to them on 2/1/2021 that the laser had failed to work properly. Below are the video links I sent. Part 1 Universal Engraver complaint https://photos.app.goo.gl/Aq9R82ywrJF81TMT8 part 2 Universal Engraver Complaint https://photos.app.goo.gl/NQp2xd2sNZDQQRTK7 The scripted responses are: 1. We will not accept return without approval. 2. We can not accept returns with a video showing problem. 3. We will not accept returns if you can't figure out how to assemble the product or use the product. 4. We can not accept returns if you are not happy with the operation of this purchase. 5. We can not accept equipment return if it has been used.

This a terrible company to deal with. You cannot talk to anyone, only an email. There were no instructions to assemble this $1,200 Laser that included hundreds of tine bolts and nuts. Was sent a video to show assembly but it was a Chinese kid speaking very broken English. The video content was terrible only showing the assembly from a distance so you couldn't tell anything. The assembly was being done on a different machine. I am screwed i guess. I asked for a refund and they have not communicated since.

Hey, I didn't even get a video, I managed to find a Youtube vid sped up 50 times so you have to rewind it every 5 sec.

I wish I could shove mine up someones [censored].

If you used PayPal, file a complaint through them, they got us our money back just recently. See my post. above. Good luck.

I purchased a 30-000-mw-blue-cnc-laser-engraving-machine. And it came with no instructions but stupid videos that did not closely show you how to put together and no programs for it. It is a rip off and the only sent a link with a phone number that is always busy and no one will speak to me for a refund. I spent $1299. Totally ripped me off and I'm furious. Something needs to be done to this company

Ordered a 3000mW Blue CNC Laser engraving machine from Universal Engraver. The website had positive reviews from supposedly satisfied customers and they advertised 180 days money back guarantee. Because of the reviews and the price, we purchased the engraver using a PayPal account. The engraver was shipped right away; however, when we opened the box the instructions to assemble were in Chinese and so was the software to download the laser program (no CD was included as indicated on their web page). We started trying to call the indicated number and, also, emailing them but received no answers. We used the Chat featured and only received links to sites that were in Chinese or poorly written English. We were unable to resolve issues using the machine so requested a refund as indicated on their site. After 3 months, we have received no information on how to return and get the guaranteed refund. Do not purchase from this company; it is a total scam and PayPal has been of no help either so would not use them in the future.

Persist with PayPal, they recently got us our money back. See my post above.
