Factory Vehicle Warranty Alert

- Grand Rapids, MI, USA

The letter stated that I had not contacted them about my vehicle warranty. I risk being financially liable for repairs after the factory warranty by neglecting to activate coverage. However, I still had time left to activate if I called in 5 days. The letter stated this was their last attempt and that they had the right to revoke my eligibility if I did not meet their criteria. When I called, I spoke to Aaron and said it had only 3200 miles; he put me on hold, came back, and said even though I'm outside the 2500-mile requirement, they would approve but would require $395 down now and $294 per month for 15 months. I told them I paid the dealership for an extended warranty, and Aaron said no contract was associated with the vehicle. Looking at the letter there was no company name listed, but made it appear it was from Hyandai. When I asked who they were Aaron told me EverCare Auto Warranty. I left a message for my dealership and did not proceed with Aaron.

Letter requesting my Vehicle VIN # & mileage

- Great Falls, MT, USA

Vehicle warranty scam, unknown company sent an official looking envelope with "VEHICLE SERVICES DIVISION" in large letters so it looks like it's from the DMV. No return address or company listed otherwise. Uses USPS postal permit# 1935 so no origin can be easily found. Letterhead just says "Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen" and letter briefly states that it's urgent that I call to activate my vehicle service contract like it has something to do with my factory warranty. Contact phone is 1-877-205-9492 or 1-877-282-9764 for Spanish.

- Lake Worth, FL, USA

I received a letter in my mailbox today with no return address asking me to call them and give my VIN number and current mileage before Feb 5, 2024. By neglecting to replace your coverage, you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires.

- Arvada, CO, USA

Scare tactics sent to new vehicle owner: "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUIRED / Our records indicate that you have not contacted us to have the vehicle service protection for your vehicle updated. Please call 1-888-599-3772 to speak with your dedicated service representative. Failure to respond by 6/22/2023 will recategorize your vehicle in our system with a new status of: [High-Risk potential - "Pre-Existing" conditions with mechanical or electrical issues on vehicle] Neglecting to update your protection program will result in 100% out of pocket repair costs."

I received a call then text from 402-490-8181 saying I had to pay for a warranty on my vehicle now or they would take my vehicle.

Text from scammer: "Hi we've called to contact you about your cars extended warranty."

my response:

"then don't call. remove my number"

scammer:

"Ma'am please pay the warranty or we will be forced to take your car and home."

my response:

"I'm calling the police scam artist. Leave me alone. I am om the FCC no contact list & don't own a car so nice try.
