I was texted 4 separate times claiming to be from Xfinity, that my bill payments were not going through and that I was delinquent. They said I could get bill deductions if I paid them via gift cards and gave them the numbers. I went and purchased gift cards at Fred Meyer and Target, then I gave them verbal access and card numbers. They also gave me a link to go to, but I don't remember what that was for as there were so many phone calls with these people. During one of those interactions where I had already bought a gift card and was on the phone giving information to the scammer, the Target employee told me it was a scam and to hang up the phone immediately so I did. I then called Xfinity and they confirmed that they never made any contact with me. In the end, I lost $1,660.20.

Trying to contact Xfinity/Cable using phone number from internet.

The number was answered identified as xfinity,. After sharing my issue i was put on hold and when they returned they offered a cheaper deal with "new promotion" At this point seemed fine.

Not until they had my SSN and were ready to do a satalite install (for Direct TV) did i realize that i was not speaking with Xfinity. At that point i said i was not interested and hung up.

Claim to have billed me for a service I don't have. This is just trying to have me contact them and they will ask for information to verify that it's a false billing. They us my spouses name but sent it to my email address. I've received this same "payment confirmation" email before and blocked the email address it came from. They just changed the sending email address.
