There are several issues occurring here, and I don’t necessarily know if the ScamPulse.com is the appropriate institution to contact about this, but here’s what YouTube is doing to my family including myself:
1) Hacking the web browser I am using (Microsoft Edge) by ignoring my controller commands such as when pausing a video or song, autoplaying videos despite browser-wide restrictions to prevent autoplay, using exploits (invisible blocking scripts that prevents me from pausing by literally blocking the pause button) to bypass my choices of what I watch and what I ignore, and using exploits to know my X-Box’s System status (e.g. when my controller turns off I immediately get two unstoppable ads, which in recent days are mostly partisan political ads).
2) Like many working-from-home parents these days, the Internet serves as a temporary distraction or learning opportunity for children. While using their service, with clearly young child content, inexplicably rated-R ads are shown, like horror movie trailers, grisly stuff that is not intended for youthful eyes.
3) And here’s the cherry on top: after clearly hacking my system and showing my child make believe nightmares, their service harasses me with the literal definition of extortion: give us money otherwise we’re going to bombard you with all of the madness to be found within the advertising realm regardless of the legal and ethical conundrums it creates so long as they make $. P.S. I’ve cleaned out the “ad preferences” their service created for me without my input, and yet, I’m shown all sorts of things I want nothing to do with like having an affair by joining dating websites, partisan political propaganda, and overall just triggering nonsense that shouldn’t be seen unless approval has been sought.
Apologies for the book, and especially if it is not relevant to you, which if that is the case I humbly ask of you what institution then should I contact to handle my complaint.
