This scam arrives in your mail in the form of a double sided postcard that reads "home records division" on one side and "Homeowner protection division on the other." There is information on this postcard that can be found via public information on the internet via someones records, and they provide a 'ID' and 'pin code' for you to use that is there to prove that you did indeed receive this postcard. It stresses that your home warranty is set to expire, and that you should 'act now before it is too late.' There are videos on youtube from local news stations that talk about this scam, one such video that I found being from KSL News Utah. From what other people say in facebook groups who have encountered this scam from all across the USA, these scammers will ask for your credit card information over the phone to renew the 'warranty', they then take your money (likely stealing your credit card information to boot), and nobody actually comes to 'inspect your home'.

Received a post card directing me to contact the company about continuing a warranty that I never purchased. They give a name of "Homeowner Protection Division" but no address, email or website. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6am - 7pm CST, Saturday 10am - 4pm CST. Post Mark says Dallas TX. There's a Registration ID and PIN #. Looks real but I don't recommend calling them.

Received postcard showing only scammer's phone number and "Postage Paid Presorted First Class Mail, Dallas TX, Permit No 2650". This was a "Warranty Replacement notice" advising me to contact the phone number so I do not have a lapse in coverage for all available covered components. No idea who sent it. (Zip Code was not shown on postcard but had to insert numbers to get through this report.)

Received a card via the postal mail for registering a warranty replacement for my home's "mechanical systems". There is no company name, no website, and no return address. It only list a phone number I have to call and the hours of operation. I have attached a redacted picture of the card.

I received a postcard in the mail addressed to my husband who recently passed away. It sounded like he had an insurance policy for the house that I didn't know about and it needed to be renewed. I called to see what it was and after a few minutes I said that they sound like they're trying to sell me something that I neither need or want. As I hung up the person on the line said that it took me long enough to figure it out.

They said it was home warranty services that covered my electrical and plumbing only and that my homeowners insurance wouldn’t cover that and they’d agree that this was an optional service and it’s in my best interest. They did not identify themselves on initial answer, and tried to over power the conversation as a scare tactic.

Received a postcard purporting to be a Warranty Replacement Notice from "Homeowner Protection Division". It looks very much like an official notification claiming that contact is required within 3 weeks to have uninterrupted service. The postcard was addressed to my spouse who is elderly. He was about to call them to find out what was going on and hoping to get a better deal. I stopped him in time because there is no discernable company name and doesn't match up with our homeowner and insurance documentation.

This postcard was mailed to us - no return address or website listed. It claims to be from “Homeowner Protection division”

It looks “official” but we looked it up and saw it was a scam.

“This is your warranty replacement notice advising you to contact our offices so you do not have a lapse in coverage for all available covered components. With active services, all repairs and replacements will be covered that reflect your updated paperwork. Call 1888-413-5452 now before it’s too late and your expiration date expires leaving your home at risk of expensive repairs and or product replacement.”

I received a postcard dated 7-31-25 addressed to : **** ***** my significant other who does not own my home. It came from Home Owner Protection Division in Dallas, Tx Permit 2650. 334422-10. Not business name or address, nor email or URL.

Want him to call so there was not lapse in coverage of home warranty. Which owner does not have. Said expirations date of coverage now is 8-29-25. I will not call them. I am doing this scam report with the Central Ohio BBB.

I received a postcard with no address or email address. Just a phone number 1-888-413-5452. It says it's a warranty replacement notice, and that registration is required for continued protection. It says home inspection waived, coverage area inside/outside. They want you to contact their offices so there is no lapse in coverage for all available components.
