I was looking for a chimney inspection / cleaning and used google. I found this company and upon visiting the website, it was targeted as a local service in my area. I received the service, the guy was pushy and aggressive but seemed convincingly knowledgeable. He used scare tactics and said the fireplace was unsafe to use and required significant repairs. I was uneasy but couldn't quite pin down why. As he left, he agreed to send over a quote, which I received, and had me pay for the inspection service. He would not accept cash or check and I had to pay with credit card. Again, I felt uneasy but I had contacted them and felt I had to pay for it. After he left, all of the odd things built up and I realized something was off. Upon further investigation, this company has targeted websites based on where you are when you search. If you google search "Chimney service in XXX town" or any iteration of chimney work, the website comes up and when you click it, it says "local chimney servicing XXX town". Same name and information but with different phone numbers. They have all the numbers funnel to a switchboard, where they setup someone to come out and look at your chimney, use these scare tactics and push for you to pay more on the day. If you aren't moving forward with additional service, they push for the inspection payment and get out of there. This does not appear to be a criminal organization but it is definitely fraudulent with false advertising and false claims of legitimacy of the "technicians", who cite regulations & building codes as they describe the enormity of your problem.

Marketed his website as a chimney sweep company that also inspects and repairs chimneys. Claimed my fireplace needed 1500 of work to fix in order to pass inspection. After he left I inspected myself and noticed the work was done very unsatisfactory. I have pictures to prove it. Upon calling back he didn’t answer my call or return my message. Feeing scammed I looked at yelp reviews and he didn’t receive a star other than 1. Everyone was calling him a scam artist. Looking up the website the next day I noticed the phone number and location of the business changed on the website. It now says East Brunswick when prior it said old bridge. I also noticed multiple other websites that are the same as this one with different phone numbers and different locations. There is no business address and not on your website. I would like to get my money back. I had a brick mason look at the work and he also says this was a scam. He would need to redo the work and he suggested getting another inspection.

Identifying information that they were located in my town. They are not. When scheduling fireplace cleaning was told each fireplace would be $110 and chimney inspection would be $120. Tech wrote down cleaning was $399 for 1st fireplace and $599 for 2nd. He then indicated inspection costs of $99 + $99 + $199 + $199. Said "Crown" on chimney needed re-caulking charged $899. Totaled invoice as $2658.00. Gave himself a tip of $531.60. Told my husband he had to pay before work could begin. Had my husband sign his phone. My husband couldn't really make out the small font and signed thinking he was supposed to. (I wasn't home at the time). When I found out called company 4 times. First two times was told the "tip" would be credited. I wanted to address the ridiculous charges and the "math error" that the costs didn't add up. Was hung up on twice. Trying to cancel charge on credit card. Credit card company says charge has to post first. Waiting makes us uncomfortable. These people can't get away with this.

Receipt showing no business address, no actual number to lead directly, and no actual name of the man who performed the service. They came in and charged me $200 dollars to take a picture with their IPhone up my wood burning stoves which didn't show anything past 6 inches cuz of the darkness. You wouldn't even know if there was obstruction or damage to the liner inside my chimney. Never even stepped foot on my roof and didn't plan on it because he said cleaning was done inside and that would be another $900!!! Never inspected properly and when you look up the business it's own website seem generic and fraud. The claim 5 stars over 595 reviews but you can't access or find a review. They can't even be found on google to leave a review. Stay away from this company unless you want to be ripped off.
