I received a voicemail call on 4/29 from an Ada County Sherrif Captain Mike Lakey saying I needed to call 208-543-7779 extension 4 immediately for an urgent civil matter. I returned the call the same day and left a voicemail. Today, 4/30 I got another phone call from an unlisted number who left another voicemail from another Ada County Sherrif form Sergeant Lewis who left the same message and said to call 208-543-7909 extension 4. I called back at 208-543-7909 extension 4 and got an answer from a gentleman who identified himself as an Ada County officer and asked for my name. I gave him my name and he stated he would pull my file. He pulled my file and said I signed a summons to appear in federal court on 3/11 and did not show so now I have two citations and warrants for not appearing. He said I have a failure to appear code 221-CV-7148 and contempt of court code 221-CV-6636 and that I will need to act as my own bailsbond until a signature exam can be completed to verify it was, in fact, not me that signed the Summons to appear on 3/11. He said the FTA fine was $2,467.10 and COC was $2,478.00 and he put me on hold to get the captain. As that point I went to the Ada County Sherrif's website and found this appears to be a scam and called the Ada County Sheriff number at 208-377-6790 and she indicated that this was a scam.
