BUSINESS IMPOSTER SCAM. In a 2 week span we have had 2 homeowners contacting us complaining of bad service and requesting a refund, which is unheard of around here. Upon looking up the customers information, in both cases, we had no record of them at all. No call for an appointment, no appointment scheduled, nothing. After the second homeowner called with a situation very similar to the first, we did some digging. Thankfully one of the ladies I spoke to was willing to talk and gave me quite a bit of information. We started from scratch...where did you hear about us? She said, "an ad on the internet." Red flag #1, we are not running an ad on the internet. She contacted the number listed and her call was answered by an answering service. Red flag #2, we don't use an answering service. Our calls are answered right here in our office. The answering service took her information and someone called her back. She told me the call was from an out of state cell number and at no time, either the answering service or the person she spoke with, ever identified themselves as being Mr. Chimney. She told me she scheduled an appointment for a chimney inspection. Her appointment was at 12:30 pm. No one showed. Someone called at 4:30 pm...said they would be there in 15 minutes and finally showed up at 5:30. Red flag #3...it's too dark at 5:30 to do a chimney inspection. They arrived in a plain car, no signage, with out of state plates. They told her she had "3rd degree creosote", collected their payment and left, suggesting a chimney cleaning. After speaking with this homeowner at length, we did schedule a cleaning appointment with her. After performing the chimney cleaning, no 3rd degree creosote build up was found however she did have cracks and gaps between her flue tiles which is a fire hazard and never mentioned prior. We found out that someone calling themselves mr-chimney has sponsored ads on google, targeting certain areas...in this case Milwaukee. After some searching we have found similar scams reported in numerous states with very similar scenarios. An ad is placed, linking to a website. If the customer calls the number on the ad or website, they are getting an answering service or cell phone. An appointment is made, someone shows up (this customer complained they never gave an individuals name...our names are right on our uniform shirts), throws around a technical chimney term (in this case "3rd degree creosote"), charges an unheard of price (in one case a homeowner paid $600 for a chimney cleaning that we would have charged $285 for) and asks for cash. If you need paperwork or a receipt, you will be given the run-around...."that comes from the office...", our paperwork and receipt are written out right at the time of the service. Someone on our team reported the ad to Google as a scam so at last look the ad was down for Milwaukee, but... today we received a call from someone wanting to schedule a chimney cleaning in an area around Fond du Lac, he told us he got our name off of the internet. My fear is that these scammers have google ads placed all throughout Wisconsin, this homeowner was one who (wisely) looked us up directly instead of clicking through the ad. We have also searched for them with NCSG (which is listed in their website) with no results. Proud to be an Accredited ScamPulse.com company for over 20 years...We are the one and only Mr. Chimney, Inc. here in Southeast Wisconsin.

I received an email claiming i won a yeti crossroads backpack. It asked me to respond via link.

I contacted backyard enjoyment to build a playhouse for my grandchildren. We corresponded with his email then after about 6 emails back and forth, an email arrived in my email box that was almost exactly like his using the same information we had talked about and signed with the same name. Requesting that I etransfer half the cost for the playhouse and the other half would be paid upon delivery. I transferred 3 payment of 2000 each time for half of the cost when I received another email from the real company asking if I was still interested in purchasing. I immediately informed him of what happened and not 30 minutes later another fake email arrived stating that the previous real email was a misunderstanding and to please send another payment. They obviously were watching the emails back and forth and interjected when they needed to. I secured all of my accounts and passwords, nothing else was compromised so I think it was on the company email end that was the issue.

This business is posing as my father-in-laws business, Tuvia Logistics that was bought by another company (Kerry Apex) at the beginning of 2022. My husband for the company, Kerry Apex, that bought my fathers company, TUVIA. This "Tuvia Cargo Logistics" Company is not real and I am afraid that current or potential clients might be scammed by whoever is posing as Tuvia.
