I got a call that I had qualified for student loan forgiveness and that I had to pay $150 per month for 4 months then after that $19/mo for like 15 months. They had a contract to sign and told me to make sure to set up my online account with FSA (where I used to have an account but it was one day just erased and gone for some reason) I never set up the account which didn’t please them and they kept asking me to do that everytime they contacted me. I wasn’t able to make any payments after the first two and they have been threatening to remove me from the forgiveness program altogether. I told them to do whatever they had to do bcuz I just didn’t have the money. They didn’t seem very professional to me at all and I have been trying to find out HOW to investigate this to see if they are legit or not. I finally called my loan service provider and found out that they’ve not credited my loan amount the $300 I’ve paid to New Education Relief! Also my loan servicer had never heard of them, nor were there any notes on my account about them which there should have been the rep said. I’m mad I got tricked and feel stupid!

The Enrollment Associate, Richard James, of Freedom Loan Resolution Services said I qualified for federal loan forgiveness due to my occupation. He knows my social security number, debit card info, address, work address, and phone number. He created a monthly schedule where payments would come off of my debit credit on the 7th of each month. He told me to stop paying my federal loans online and he would submit an online application for me & the Department of education would see this application. It would take 45-60 days for my loans to be consolidated and the remaining loans would go to the Aidvantage website. I also sent him my recent pay stub and 2023 tax return

Email to call them for college loan forgiveness.

Phone call directed me to open FAFSA and give account details like debt balance. They asked me to upload my data onto their website (listed above). I didn't and ended the call.

The scammer (Shawn) called me and said they work for Alumni Support Center and also work with the Department of Education. Shawn had an Indian accent and was hard to understand and I asked him to repeat himself multiple times in order to understand. The long, short of it was, Shawn said they could forgive thousands of dollars in my student loan and had me log in to my FAFSA. I gave him my husbands social security and name and address and passwords but did not pay, as he requested. I told him to call me back. After I hung up the phone with him, I changed my passwords. I am not sure if he really is with Alumni Support Center or was a scammer. I am hoping to warn others so they do not have to go through what I went through too.

I was first reached out to by email. Saying I needed to call them by the end of the day to get my student loan forgiven. I called because I plan on going back to school.. They said they needed my card info and login info for my Federal student loan. I gave them all thinking they could get it fixed. Thinking this was a way to go back to school. I signed documents while the guy perstied me on the phone to sign them. I had no clue they were scamming me.

Student loan forgiveness, asking to call their number

• Apr 26, 2024

I received same message and I just contacted StudentAid.gov to update my account to consolidate my loans. I was waiting for notification from student aid but, was contacted by them. A Donald, Duran and he seem to get upset ever time I had hesitating questions and said they’d have me pay $249 a month for 12 months and $39 for 20 years as my forgiveness and it would take me 200 years if I did it on my own. He said I’m in good hands and there to help because government don’t care to help.

Various representatives connected with me to apply on my behalf to receive student loan debt relief around March 2022. I came to realize I may have been scammed when I tried to reach out to said company/representatives this year after receiving a multitude of notifications that loan repayments are coming due. When I did an internet search for the company known to me as 'United Aid Group' It dawned on me that this company is fraudulent. I was advised by a banker to have an investigation done by the bank to resolve and possibly recuperate the funds I had lost but as I went back into my emails and transactions for this evidence it dawned on me that I was online banking solely at the time and that establishment does not have a customer service department for me to contact.

I was contacted by someone supposedly regarding student loan forgiveness debt, from President Biden eliminating a portion of my student loan debt. But I would have to make payments in excess of 4000 plus dollars and the rest would be eliminated.

The company offered services to assist me with student loan forgiveness due to a class action lawsuit against the school I attended, which was valid. However I was advised by the dept of education that I shouldn't be charged an upfront fee for assistance and provided me the correct information to submit for free on my own. I emailed my point of contact Martin to advise that I wanted to cancel. His response was unprofessional advising that he couldn't do it and that I had to call. When I called I was advised that the cancellation dept was closed and that I would get a call on Monday since it was 4:25pm on a Friday. Martin then called me at 7:17am Monday morning stating he didn't know what the cancellation was about and to call him to talk about it. When I called his direct line I didn't get an answer and left a voicemail. I then called the main line to be told the cancellation dept was there on Friday and my account had been closed but I was still charged for the services that Friday. She advised the supervisor Mike would call me back which he never did. I followed up on Tuesday to be advised I would get a confirmation email of my cancellation by end of day which I did not receive.

Back on March 19th 2019, I received a call from an Agent named Tyler Storey . He stated he worked for a Student loan forgiveness company called Nexum solutions . He went through a whole run down about the company and how they help and are connected with helping people pay off their Student loans ect. Fast forwarding the process. We get to an agreement of how much would come out of my account automatically each month and what i had to pay currently ect. I signned documents and initiated the dates of withdrawals ect.

After all the years i finally go to check and see how much i still owe . I went back to the email that included all the info. On it , i find the contact info . Go to reach out to the numbers listed and none of them work. The websites listen aren't recognized. The address provided doesn't list the company. I Google the company info and things pop up like scams info ect.

I feel very foolish and crushed that ive been scammed all these year's. I haven't even began to calculate how much total has been stolen from me. Here i am at the age of 31 trying to get out of debt and i get scammed. Im currently trying to stop any future payments through my bank .

They privately offered to consolidate my federal student loan through them, but needed a payment used through my debit card over the course of 4 months. They would enroll me in the SAVE program and would ensure I would only pay 240 months worth of student loans.

I received a text from the *** ********* ****** stating that they had been trying to reach me regarding my student loan forgiveness. Mind you this is all happening around the time that loans were being forgiven so I didn’t think anything of it. I called and spoke to the gal on the phone she told me that if I paid at first it started off being I believe 300 hundred a month for 4 months and then it would reduce to 100 a month for 2 years that my loan would be forgiven because I qualified for the loan forgiveness. I questioned her and said well, if I qualified then why do I have to pay anything? She said “ that I had to pay for 2 years and then it would all be forgiven and I would owe nothing.” Now, I am single I work 2 jobs plus I donate plasma just to barely make ends meet so you can imagine this sounded good to me. I told her that I can’t afford to pay what she wanted me to pay so she lowered it and I paid 155 for 4 months and the the next 18 months it would be 19 dollars a month, the 155 was still kind of high but I just kept thinking well her through the next 4 months and you got this. I paid the 4 months of 155 then I get an email in August from the Department of Education telling me my loan will be coming due in October and to watch out for people trying to scam. After getting that email I started to google the numbers and sure enough there have been others that have experienced the same thing as me. Being scammed by this same company. I googled the address and that comes up as a UPS store I called them they do not have any businesses in that complex by New Education Relief. I talked to my student loan carrier they have never heard of them and basically told me that any money that I gave them went straight into their pocket and would not go towards my student loans. My student loans will not be forgiven after 2 years at lease not that way by them. So I filed fraud with my bank against them and will see what happens. I am trying to get this out to every possible customer complaint department that I can, trying to save others from this happening to.

On 7-17-23 at approximately 1 pm I received an email from Arlo Pinto with Processing Assist Inc stating that my student loans for eligible for forgiveness under new 2023 deadlines. I had applied for student loan forgiveness on the FAFSA website and thought it was them contacting me regarding my information. After I had given all of my confidential information to John Latrell, with Processing Assist company, I then had realized it was scam after sending me a third party contract/agreement. In the contract, it had stated that Processing Assist Inc was not affiliated with the Department of Education. I then had realized it was a scam and that I had given them all of my information that could possibly steal my identity.

The scammer reached me through the phone, offering me a chance at loan forgiveness. I ended up qualifying, so I signed up to receive partial loan forgiveness since I am a teacher. We continued contacting through email. They got my debit card number, credit card number, and my Social Security number. I signed a contract. I thought it was legit because my dad applied for parent loan forgiveness and they said he "did not qualify". The photo included is the email I received when I first signed up. I signed up in July 2022 and they continued to take a $199 payment through December 2022. They said in January, my payments would go down to $80 a month for the next 10 years or something like that. He said if I missed a payment that I would disqualify me so I kept a watch on my bank statement. In February of 2023, I noticed I hadn't had a payment withdrawn since December. Before I realized it was a scam, I email them asking if everything was okay. I never heard back. I decided to check my FAFSA to see if the $1200 I had paid had been taking off of my student loan debt and it had showed that I had $0 paid. That was when I realized it was a scam and reported it to my bank. By that point it was too late to receive a full refund for the damages.
