I received a call from 800-839-1639. A woman named Olivia Martin claiming to be with Georgia Mediation Group was on the line. She started telling me about a cash advance that I and a friend got using my checking account back in 2011 that apparently was never paid off. She explains that Allied Cash Advance is going to take me to court and press felony charges against me in regards to this debt as they have fulfilled their legal obligations by going through 4 collection agencies without success. The $296 debt is now $800. If I don't make payment arrangements and let it go to court, that amount will become $8,000 which includes $4,000 in attorney fees. As my state of Virginia now allows the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to employ an agency that uses the same tactics to collect on bad checks for businesses, I thought at first that this was a legit phone call and allowed myself to be talked into giving my debit card information and agreeing to a one time payment of $450 to settle the debt and clear it away. This was after she tried to get me to agree to bi-weekly payments if $115. I flat out told her there was no way I could pay that. And I had to make a decision immediately to set the settlement, otherwise she wouldn't be able to help me and it would proceed to court. However, it didn't take long after I got off the phone for me to start analyzing all the inconsistencies. 1st) She claimed she worked for Georgia Mediation Group, but the paperwork she sent was from Global Management. 2nd) Her email address was generic - which isn't true in legitimate businesses - and the reply address went to a completely different website. 3rd) It is not against the law to owe money. There is no legal ground for which to press criminal charges against me. 4th) The whole threat of prosecution and the rush to make either a decision or payment. I have since contacted an attorney and have canceled the debit card.

Business keeps calling several times a day. They keep calling asking to bundle services. The only thing we have is DirecTV and a landline. They also keep calling and asking random questions that elicit a yes or no response and then they'll hang up. They will sometimes ask about a computer and when I say that we don't have a computer they also hang up. They call from 513-952-8120 or 800-331-0500 or 800-288-2020.

On February 2, 2018 I received a phone call about a Directv,at&t promotion. I through it was real because I just had directv do some work for me. They said I could save money monthly if I take the promotion.I would get more channels and for two years my monthly payments would be only $62.50 pre month. They gave me a promotion code DTV13547 and to call a customer service number 1-888-314-0329 . To get a amazon gift card for $250.00 to pay the first four months. Then for the remaining twenty months the payment would be reduced to $62.50. I did that and got a confirmation number MS21288456. After seeing the scan it was too late. I got SCAM.

Around mid-February I started getting emails from prospective employers offering positions and interviews based on a resume they found via CareerBuilder.com. I have never submitted a resume or signed up for services at CareerBuilder.com. This was very alarming for me because it puts my current job at risk if my employer thinks I'm looking for work elsewhere.

I already submitted a request via CareerBuilder.com to take down my profile but did not get a response and I keep getting emails from them and other prospective employers. So I went to the website to try and login and manually delete my profile. I never had a password but was able to reset the password and login.

What I found made me sick to my stomach. Someone had created a fake profile with names of my previous employers but with positions/titles and education that made my profile appeal to certain job searches. Even my location was incorrect, but was the next town over. My identity was stolen, altered to be more appealing, so this website could appear to have candidates for their prospective clients. I'm disgusted and would like them invesitgated this. Attached is an image of my profile.

Called offering to lower my bill with Direct TV. Required me to pay for 4 months up front with a particular Amazon card, then call back to direct TV with my code. If I paid within 24 hours , Amazon would send me a $100 gift card.

We are an automotive repair and tire store.

A customer came in saying that someone called him at 8:45pm it was a recorded call saying that our company offered extended warranties for cars. His caller ID said it was our number. Our customer has been with us for 20 years so he knew something was wrong so he hung up.

We do not offer this nor have we ever. This is a scam and they are targeting our customers using our name and address.

Taverna Anthony-phone number 585-637-5806 called my home line. She informed me that I had viruses on my computer that needed to be taken care of and she would help me do just that. I ask if Microsoft made calls to its customers and she said she was not from Microsoft but from Windows. I told her I didn't have my computer on and she said she would wait. I said I didn't have time and she ask if I was at home. I hung up.

Stated from DirecTV. Said I'd save $40.00 on my monthly bill for 1 year if I paid ~$100.00 to activate service. Needed my credit card info. to start savings. Called DirecTV, they said they were not doing this. Scam.

How did they know I had DirecTV?

I called to report fishy activity on my Yahoo email account. I called the provided number (18008131316) and was told the representative would be unable to assist me with my "technical" problem. He said he could refer me to their technical support, but it would cost me $149.00. That's when I knew something was off.

By then, I had already provided my email, date of birth, but refused to provide my phone number, although they may have it anyways from me calling.

I want to ensure my information has not been compromised. I'm receiving numerous calls from unknown numbers about purchasing a new credit card and other bogus offers.

The representative sounded Indian leading me to believe this was perhaps an operation overseas.

I was contact by someone via text for a work from home job. I did an interview on gmail hangouts and was told I got the job. They said they would send me a check to pay for the software, luckily I had someone stop me from going any further. It was a real company that they used the name of so be careful.

Answered the phone because it said direct tv main number they knew my address and what service I had then told me they were running a promotion with att direct tv and amazon. If I purchased a $320 gift card and called the number and gave them the promotion code and gift card number that my bill would be cut in half with free premium channels but I had to do so in 24 hours to obtain my $100 visa gift card that would be at my door via ups with 2 business days

I don't know exactly what this scam is - but when the call is answered it gives the AT&T recognizable tones and says that your account is being suspended and then asks you to press the number "1" or "2".

I didn't do anything - I hung up and called 611 from my cell phone. The AT&T rep confirmed there were no problems with my account and they have received other notifications of this scam.

Multiple letters from "Vehicle Services Department" and "Automotive Services Department" operating under "Interstate National Dealer Services, Inc." and "AutoAssure, LLC. The letters make it seem like your car's factory warranty is about to expire and that you need to go ahead and purchase insurance coverage through them so that you are covered. However, I called Hyundai and my factory warranty does not expire until 2021. Also, Hyundai said to avoid any letters from companies or scam artists that do not list a BIN #.

My cell phone was ringing with an incoming call that appeared to be coming from my own phone number, when I picked up a recording came on stating: "This is AT&T, your number has been flagged as a security threat, enter the last four digits of the primary account holders SSN".
