Upon looking online, I discovered the exact photos and house listed on Airbnb under a different name. I contacted the Airbnb host who responded almost immediately that the post was fraudulent and not by them.
Upon searching, we could not find his name or email anywhere, and this man is clearly made up.
Here is the email I received:
"The property you are interested in is a 1 suite bedroom unit located at *** Jackson St, Denver, CO *** at the rate of $850 Per Month which sleeps with ease and convenience 2 people, you are to make advance payment first month of the rental fee plus a security fee of $500 which enable you reserve and secure the unit for your chosen month. The advance payment is required before arrival.
Note: Security fee will be refunded back to you. The security fee is not applied toward rental fee however it is fully refundable on the day of your departure, provided all the amenities in the unit are met.
Amenities includes: Central air conditioning, WiFi internet access, parking space available for two cars, washer and dryer in the unit, high quality towels, linens and dishes, flat screen TV with cable and DVD player, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, ice maker and pets allowed.

SECURITY FEE= $500 (Refundable)
TOTAL AMOUNT= $3050
TOTAL DEPOSIT AMOUNT= $1350
BALANCE =$1700
What required you to hold the unit is to make advance payment first month of the rental fee plus the security deposit fee of $500 which will be refunded back to you on your departure day.
Keep the house organized and clean ;- The living room, bathroom, kitchen and toilet are for private use alone and there is no other person sharing the apartment with you. It's a private apartment and it's not shared. In case you lose the keys, please replace them before checking out;- If you break it, you pay it! Anything that was broken will have to be replaced by an identical item of the same brand;- Absolutely no smoking allowed inside the apartment, only on the balcony.
If you are interested in the home, fill out the attached Application Form and get back to me with the filled out Application Form, so I can send you the Rental Reservation Agreement Booking Form to fill out for your reservation and the info you will be sending the payment through Bank Deposit/Transfer, PayPal or Zelle to hold the property, kindly get back to me asap because a lot of interest are coming in for the property.
If any problems arise on long term stays, guests will be given 5 days to find an alternative suitable location.

Luckily, the application only asked for our names, phone numbers, and current address. I did not share my social or driver's license, nor send the money. I flagged the ad on craigslist and it has been taken down.
