I truly believe he was my son it even sounded sounded like him. I was desperately freaking out.
Then the supposed lawyer called me back pretending that he was going to take good care of him. That he was presently at a county jail in PA waiting to see a judge in two hours. He said for me to go buy 3 number 10 envelopes and one big padded envelope and to do exactly as he says and do not tell anyone about this or will be doing more harm than good by telling anyone about this. He was very specific saying that not to say anything about a bail bond at the bank. His instructions were that I had to pay $15,800 bail in cash and a messenger bail bond person was going to come to my house to pickup the money. That my son was in good hands not to worry that he will walk out in a couple of hours. He instructed me not to tell anyone because my son had a good record and he was able to get him off without sentence and a clean record. He insisted to get my address before we get disconnected and I gave him my name and address.
After I hanged up the phone somehow I started doubting why so much rush and all in cash.I immediately call my son and he was ok It was a SCAM!!!
The supposed lawyer call me back asking if I had the money ready and I told him I don’t have any money whatsoever. He hanged up on me. I was lucky I didn’t loose any money but this was so crazy!!! These scammers are so cruel and they don’t care how much harm or grieve they are inflicting on a person. I do not wish this on anyone I suffered like if it was true, for sure karma will get back at them.
The next day I called the real lawyer they were impersonating and told them what happened.
