I received a call from a lady on 1/2/24 that used my name and address and told me I was about to be served some documents about a civil lawsuit on me. She said she had my social security number and that she w[censored]ding up processing the paperwork until I got in touch with the attorney filing it by calling 866-350-0392 and asking any questions I might have with him. She didn’t give her name or the attorney’s name. I made the mistake of calling the number back to see who would answer and she called back from three different extensions because I kept hanging up. The numbers are 347-980-3202, 8183 and 1548. I blocked them all.

The scammer called my place of employment and left a voicemail message on my cell informing me that an account that was owed over 9 years ago must be paid or I will will be sued

They have left me messages that I have a civil case against me. Now they are contacting family members as well.

The person said he had our credit report and it was reported to the irs We owed them money. It said they were coming after us. We are in good standing so I knew it was fraud at that point. He was getting loud and upset and I was too and then I hung up.

Received a voicemail saying "Time sensitive matter. Please call number on caller ID." I called the number, the person I spoke to identified themselves as Matthew Young (very nice and calm, polite tone) and said "they were trying to making a payment arrangement on a defaulted pay day loan which was opened in, online in 2016 and went into collections in 2017." I told him I have never heard of this loan company nor have I ever applied for a loan. He asked me if I had a police report to prove that my identity was stolen, to which I replied of course not this is my first time hearing about this. He said they mailed notices to my address, which turned out to be an address I never lived at (it was my old employer's address from 10 years prior to this supposed loan) and I said how strange that was that someone have been able to use that address from so long ago which was not even my home address. I also mentioned how strange it was that none of this showed up on my credit report. He said well, "were going to have to send it in to pursue legal action" and I replied, Ok. I'll look into this and figure out what I need to do on my end. Call ended.

I called back a few minutes later to ask some other questions ( that didn't occur to me during the first conversation) an the "call failed." I can no longer get a hold of Matthew or anyone at that number
