I got a text today from this scammer--blocked him and I did not apply for any job because I'm employed. his number is: 517-342-4824. If he tries to email me, I will follow-up with a full investigation and block that as well.

You guys I'm expercing the same thing with this Dr. Christopher James. His text said I got the job but I've not been interviewed. I've texted back asking for his company name & picture of his business cards since I can't find the application that I turned in. His Phone number is 517 342 4824 & email email dr. [email protected].

“Dr. Christopher James” Reach out to me via text first saying that after receiving my application for his role as a personal assistant (which I never applied for) he wanted to further see if I was a good fit by sending me a Google doc link to fill out. This questionnaire asked me for my name, my address, my source of payment a.k.a. my bank name, as well as whether I wanted to be paid weekly or biweekly. After filling it out he emailed me the next day saying I got the job, which I found weird because I never agreed to working for him in the first place. He then proceeded in the email by telling me he wanted me to purchase some toys for children at a foster care. He stated that the money will be wired via FedEx or USPS via a business check of some sort. I found the entire encounter weird because once I asked him for his company email as well as his company name I never received a initial text back, but he still email me back the next day telling me I had received the job. I never feel comfortable with this job offer because I never recalled applying for in the first place. After a quick search on Google, I quickly found that multiple people had been through the same sort of weird encounter. Beware guys if you hear from this “doctor“, do you research and stay smart.

Stated he found me on indeed and showed a pretty standard receptionist job description. He wanted me to confirm name, address, phone number and bank name to perform a background check. He then congratulated me for getting chosen for the job and told me he was going to send me money to buy toys for a children’s organization, did not contact me for a while after I questioned the job and now he apparently sent me a check for over 4,000 and wanted me to wire it to them. Another number just texted me saying their name is Matthew and he is his insurance. If I don’t comply I will be reported to the FBI. I never received a check and if I ever receive it I’m discarding of it. The other number is 5204224510.
