Targeted by Instagram ad. initial Zoom call with josh McCartney ([email protected]) for the sell. Dan Mangena was an expert in creating "unsexy" businesses and wanted to share those income streams with clients for coaching fees. Promised multiple income streams with minimal investment. He even fronted several people as references I had phone calls with: Aaron king is the name I recall, and his partner. They gave this scam plenty of credential and even had scams of their own. Eventually bought in for $18,000 “coaching” fee. The first stream was described as “commodities” using trade finance for returns near 100%. Clients would purchase “slots” and be paid (as often as monthly) a multiple according to slots purchased. Support group chat was created on telegram with Sandi, Claudine, and azariah--some combination of Australian, possibly others in Dubai. Was promised that a company called “fund & grow” would find credit cards to finance slots and other streams of income, so they did. Several credit cards opened and maxed. Also contributed cash in “slot” rounds of $55,000 ($11,000 per slot) and $77,000. Scheduled regular “coaching” Zoom calls that were literally recorded and shared (I have backups) via Google Drive. Probably had 5-6 coaching calls in the first few months, all delays. Every excuse he could come up with to delay any kind of payment whatsoever. Meanwhile, he's working on plenty of other income streams for the future. He sold me on monthly payments, so I let it ride for a few months thinking ok, sure, I know nothing about “trade finance” or “commodities” shipping. Every answer was a delay. It's always another delay. At this point, any time I book a call or ask a question on the telegram chat, he's suddenly unavailable, his mother died, he has the flu, etc. I've written off the cash and credit cards as a terribly expensive mistake, please screen your investments better than I did. The signs were definitely there, but the promises of “financial freedom” were too alluring, I suppose.

Dan Offered the financial freedom in a box investment opportunity. The deal was I would pay $10,000 and would make a minimum of $2000 per month and could get out and redeem my $10,000 anytime. I paid the $10,000 and the monthly payments started rolling in as promised. After I had been paid about $8000 they contacted me with another opportunity. Pay us $20,000 and get $60,000 min per year. Well once I paid the $20,000 payments stopped. They said they had been scammed themselves and multiple other excuses. They then asked for a credit card to provide cash flow as the only way to get my investment paying again, after reading the other persons story I'm happy I did not do this but was scarily close! After 18 months of this I asked for my initial investment back as promised. They said no and that they need to wait for a buyer and would refund it at that time. Many months later and no buyer. Looking back I can't believe I fell for it but Dan comes across as very sincere, professional and caring.
