Also received text messages from (818) 873-3226 claiming to be from a [local city] Emergency Medical Group asking to pay a bill to a local hospital. Called hospital who said they call and email people for bill reminders, and bill notices would always show up in the member portal, not via text message.

Please don't fall for this scam and always call your hospital before clicking on any links or giving money to scammers.

Received texts from (818) 873-3226 stating that I had overdue medical bills and needed to pay by due date.

I logged into the actual hospital website and checked with them, no bill.

When in doubt, always check with official sources. A text message with a link is not to be immediately trusted!

I received text messages saying I owed $1340 for an emergency room visit and to visit a website to pay to avoid collection activity. However, my insurance had already paid the bill and I had paid the copay. I called the phone number and heard a recorded message asking if they "could help you in any way with your development." I was then cut off. Clearly a scam.

Received a couple Text Messages saying that I owe $911.00 from Los Robles Emergency Medical Group. A lot of people have been receiving similar messages from the same Caller. Please be aware and report this number/

My wife received the following text from 1-818-873-3226 phone number:

Welcome to Mills Peninsula Emergency Medical Associates, INC;s program for paying bills quickly & securely via text.
HELP_BR for help.

Std data & message rates may apply.
FINAL NOTICS: You have an overdue balance of $638 from Mills Peninsula Emergency Medical Associates, INC for your visit to MILLS-PENINSULA MED CTR ED. To avoid further collection activity, pay this bill via secure link by Jun 23, 2024:

Text message said i had a bill for $815.00. I knew this was a scam but confirmed it from other people who reported similar incidents from a company using this same phone number: 8188733226
