Person acted like an HR representative for Steris offering a job and sending fake I-9s, W4s etc.

I found out about scam by contacting Steris and confirming if the job offer was correct. They confirmed person does work there but someone else is acting as them and scamming people.

They set up a job position through the baldwin county alabama for lost and found animals. They put me through an interview, never provided a phone number or anything about the company, sent over a check that had no address or phone information about the company and wanted me to deposit it. I did. And then had me download telegram to have me send a photo back showing me that I did it. Then they pushed me to spend my own money for materials. I said I wasn’t doing it. That’s about where it ended. View the attached photo of check

I received a message on MSG from a person named Mr. Frank, who had reviewed my résumé and got me an interview. He told me to install private messenger and gave me a code for my interview after I finish the interview a few minutes later, they told me I was hired. The next day they asked for my full name, address, city, state, ZIP Code, cell, email, front and back picture of my ID, and a headshot photo of myself. It started seeming sketchy that they hired me so fast and that they where gonna send me a huge sum of money to buy materials. So I started my research.

They texted me saying they had a data entry work from home job paying really well. To conduct an interview I had to download Microsoft teams. Where they asked questions and then sent me a cashiers check for !2500 dollars to purchase equipment. Like a computer etc. and then said I could keep the rest. The check was fraud. I asked at the bank. Don’t fall for it!

I was approached off of LinkedIn, and had a text interview over Zoom. The mans name was Retna Sedweave. He got a picture of my ID, & my address. They sent a check to my email to purchase supplies for the job. I had a gut feeling it was too good to be true & I’m very glad I got on here.

This business I worked for did not pay me. They keep on sending fake transactions. Never came into my bank account. They are not responding now to my emails.

Thought I had a work from home job. Was told equipment would get sent to me. I knew something was up when I was asked to print the check from my home computer. I said I was uncomfortable with that so they said they would mail me the check. I got the check in the mail, and I called the bank to verify the check. It was a fake, so I am glad I didn't deposit that check. The woman that I was communicating with was basically telling me to deposit the check anyways. I told her that she was on the BBB, and not in a positive light. Still waiting on a response.

I was contacted via Facebook chat for a virtual assistant position and offered employment and benefits. But, they wanted me to provide all of my personal information and I did not feel comfortable with that so they told me that they had my information and that I would be able to just simply verify it. They surprisingly have my social security number and my credit card information! And, they took $500 from my credit card account.

A so-called company grabs your job search info from online. Emails and texts you saying you've been chosen to interview for a position with their company. Is evasive about the job description and salary. It ends up being a "round Robin interview" with numerous candidates to apparently get your email and phone number for their marketing data. Then you don't hear back from them, although they state they'll get back with you within 24 hours. Very underhand and deceptive. Beware!

My daughter made an appointment for what she was told was an IRS office. She was text an address & an appt confirmation. When she drove to the address she realized it wasn't a govt office & called me. The phone number listed to the suite would not connect. The number she was text from is the company listed #, the one calls won't go through & asked if she wanted to reschedule when she responded that she was at the address & it wasn't a govt building. No website.
