I posted my resume on the Career Builders job site for Data Entry jobs on 1/2/2024, I was contacted via text message by Mrs. Chloe Evans stating she was head of the recruiting department at the company (EnPro Industries), and that she was contacting me in regards to my resume that was sourced from career builders. She said, "I have been listed for an online interview session for a work-from-home job position of a Data Entry Specialist, and asked me to kindly reply back to the message with "YES I AM" to find out about the position, pay scale, and full details about the company. I replied back as asked, then I received another text three hours later from her that said, "NOTE: This is a full-time online work-from-home position whereby all duties are done remotely. It's 6-8 hours daily, 30 - 40 hours weekly with overtime available. Working hours are also flexible...The pay rate is $35 hourly, You will also be paid $28 hourly during the training session. Then she stated, she believed I didn't have a problem working from home. I replied, Correct, I have no problem working from home. I asked about the training, benefits, and the equipment required. She replied back an hour and a half later and said, "Training will be done and conducted online for a week with the company's supervisor and yes the company will also be making provision for working materials to get started. You will be given a glimpse of the amazing benefit package we offer during the course of the interview/job briefing. I replied, "Sounds good." Ten minutes later she sent a text saying, "The interview/job briefing will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams, there you would get to know more about the company and what the job entails, which would be an IM interactive question/answer session. You are required to get in touch with the hiring manager, Mr. Greg Willis now for more information about the job and company. and she asked if I had Microsoft Teams app to get started. I downloaded the Microsoft Teams app to my phone but did not sign into it because my intuition was telling me not to, so I uninstalled the app. I had been hacked by a Microsoft scam before, so I didn't trust it, then I started researching the company, and the names she provided me and the number she called from and could not find any info on them, and the hiring manager, and head of recruiting for EnPro was not matching their names, so I decided to check BBB. After finding out theirs a scam going on with this company's name. I decided not to respond back to Mrs Chloe Evan's last text.

I was texted by Johnson Taylor about a work at home job for the Eneos Group. He had me do a team chat on Zoom with Michel Rocha. I was sent a check for $9800.00 dollars. Michel Rocha did not want to wait till the checked cleared and canceled the check and sent me 2 checks to put in my account, which cleared the next day. Then she had me used PayPal or Cash app to send the money to Dani Adams for an Apple Mac Pro laptop to have the programs installed that I would need for my job. Then the first 4 check sent to me the canceled and caused my account to be overdrawn. My husbands social security check and my unemployment checks went to the overdraft and my condo fee has been returned so far that is the only payment I made that has been returned. I did try contacting the Eneos Group but have not heard anything. I do have all documentation from the first FedEx check sent to me to zoom chat, PayPal and Cash app and emails.

I was contacted through Indeed and she sent me the information about the job description, interview time, and how to get started with training. I am on Day 11 with the training, and she has asked me to do "External Transfers" through my personal bank account. I called my bank, and they don't usually do it with businesses just personal accounts from another bank account. So, I called the number that she gave me, and they stated that they didn't have someone there named "Lisa Sallow". I have filled out Direct Deposit form and I-9 Form with all of my personal information.

I received an email from James Omar (email address: [email protected]) regarding a job I applied for on Indeed. This was the second email I received like this for the same job (Stonyhurst). However, the first email was from someone else (but the exact same email address) and had a different name and Signal number for the Hiring Manager.

I found it odd that they both asked me to download the Signal app to complete the interview with the “hiring manager”.

Here’s what the most recent said:

I applied for a job with Guru IT Solutions in Mobile Alabama. Received an email from the bamboo hr app with the same email you received. The interviewer's name is Mrs. Paulina at 970-999-7493. Had to download the Signal app. Have been messaging her back and forth but I think this is an AI chatbot. Told me I was hired and then listed a bunch of software and equipment I would need for a data entry job. Have been looking for the company website - pretty sure I have been scammed.

I applied for a job posted on indeed for “customer care position”. I received a response from the company asking me to send my resume to an email which directed me to a different company (townscape realty) email. I sent my resume over, that is when Lisa Sallow contacted me for an interview. It was about a 15 minute interview which she told me they would let me know by the end of the day if I was offered the position. By 5pm, I received an email with an offer and told to fill out an “employee agreement”, and “confidentiality form”. I did all of that, they never asked for socials or bank info, just standard information. She then told me it would be a couple days to be cleared through their security department and to contact her on WhatsApp (huge red flag). Couple days went by and she told me I was cleared for training and could start that Monday. Monday came and she sent me my first task, once that was completed they would send me an i9, and direct deposit form. I felt that was a bit odd since This was suppose to be a 1099 position. I began doing research and things weren’t adding up with this company. Address is fake, the offered position kept changing from “customer care” to “online chat support”, to “realtor assistant”. There were MANY inconsistencies that made me research this further. To my findings there are several others online nationwide reporting “Lisa Sallow” and this fraudulent job. When I messaged her on her WhatsApp and asked for more info on her company as I concerned about her company being reported as an employment scam she immediately blocked me. The end goal was to steal your identity, social security number, and bank information.

I could tell a scam company right away due to their terribly lazy website powered by Go Daddy. The banner at bottom still had the default text and they allegedly won cases against "Terrible Company LLC" and "Company LLC".

I received a call from Biz Investment Management from a woman with a strong accent saying I was qualified for a remote Jr Remote Assistant. I saw the location was from Florida, and I tried looking it up using BBB.org which I saw no results. This was suspicious that a company did not request to be legitimized by Better Business Bureau so a red flag. Second red flag is that it claims to be cryptocurrency company which reminded me of hearing Sam Bankman-Fried's scandal. Third red flag is the salary which was odd because they claimed I will be earning $1500 bi-weekly with flexible scheduling over the phone. I do have the pdf file attached.

The company and website are presented as a job board. Upon entering my phone number, date of birth, and email address, I began receiving scam text messages, phone calls, and emails from unknown and unverified parties telling me to click a link to continue to an unknown address. My information has been compromised.

Mr. William Lee, supposedly of ADT Security Inc, texted me yesterday, informed me that he was a Human Resources Manager for ADT Inc., he indicated, that he had an online work at home position offer available. I proceeded through a series of questions and this morning he offered me the position and indicated that he would be sending me a $2,500 check to purchase an Apple Laptop, Laser printer, 2 Roller Systems, A confetti shredder and Flex Boom Headset. He wanted me to upload and deposit the bogus check that he forwarded to my email address and copy the deposit, so he would have proof of the deposit. Eventually his check would be returned for none sufficient funds.

and create a negative balance and a bank fee that would be non refundable. Mr. Lee emailed me the front and back of a bogus check and wanted me to deposit it and send the money to the vendor to pay for those items required for the job. When I asked, him to send me his personal contact information and address he refused. He also, indicated that I was stressing him out? Really?

Also, when I refused to deposit the check that didn't even reference ADT Inc. title and address and follow his requested procedures he stopped speaking with me.

I applied for a data entry position via Indeed for Centene Healthcare and received an automated response verifying receipt of my resume on December 24th. I replied to an email from the same address, Bamboo HR, from "Aleem Ronne", that was sent December 25th and defined themselves as Freeworld Healthcare. I did not click on any links from the email but installed the Signal app and contacted the hiring manager Brian Scott as directed. I filled out the Google Form of standard interview questions and provided the criminal background check information requested. I supplied my social security number and driver's license. I provided the name of my bank but not any account numbers. I was told over chat immediately that I was hired and asked to verify my name and address again to send "work materials." It was at this point that my suspicion felt confirmed and I asked to schedule a call with this hiring manager. I received no response whereas every other message was sent immediately.

A friend of mine posted a Facebook about a payroll job! The company name was Trammo INC. I googled and continued to ask my so called friend about the company. They also sent a contract after I had already started. Waller Landon was also the company name. The scammer sent me three checks and had me deposit them in my account. They totaled 3500.00then had me send the money to PayPal, Cash App, Zell and Facebook pay. So I am out 7100 dollars. I can’t believe I fell for this scam. I trusted my so called friend

I applied for this job on the employment site indeed. This company has my résumé with name, address, phone number and email. They offered me the job and asked me questions which I answered. Three hours later, they said I was hired and sent me the proper paperwork to fill out for employment, such as an agreement for me to sign and a W-4. I thought it was odd because the whole interview was conducted via texting on Microsoft teams. The red flag was when they sent me a check via email for me to deposit into my account with my mobile app and asked me to buy a computer and all the necessary equipment for the job. I went to my bank and they told me it was a scam And to not contact them or answer any questions any further.

As a current job seeker, I have submitted my resume to hundreds of job postings on sites like LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, Indeed, etc. for a remote data management position. Most do not respond at all, but in this case, I received a text message asking me to download Teams, add a Mr. Darvin Lopez, and prepare to be interviewed.

This seemed highly suspicious to me, but I wanted to see what would happen, so I went through the "interview" process, screenshotting everything. The interviewer sent me a link to the Lucem Health website (to reassure me that everything was legit), and told me that I would be meeting with his "superiors" just before my training begins, if he makes an offer. That was yesterday morning.

This morning, he congratulated me on my impressive responses and offered me a job as a Data Entry Analyst at $35/hr (to increase upon successful completion of training). Now I'm SURE this is a scam, but I keep going and he sends me an offer letter on Lucem "letterhead". As all this is going on, I'm not asked to provide anything that isn't on my resume, except which bank I use - to make sure it's compatible with theirs for direct deposits, of course. Then he tells me that he's authorized the Accounting Dept to email me a check to cover the cost of a long list of supplies: MacBook, laser printer/copier/scanner, shredder, some software, desk & chair...and a laminator with 5 cartridges (that one made me lol ??) According to the offer letter, Lucem will also be paying for my internet, future office supplies and even gas to run errands! I can also choose to work up to 5 hrs/wk OT, at my discretion, and Lucem will not terminate my employment without giving me 2 weeks' notice (y'all are incredibly generous!).

Anyway, I'm supposed to print, endorse and mobile-deposit this check, send him photos/screenshots to confirm I've followed instructions ('We must be able to trust our employees with these tasks. You understand?') and then he'll send me info to place an order with his proprietary vendor for the office equipment. Yeah, sure buddy.

I wanted to keep him on the line, so once I received the "check", I told him my printer was malfunctioning and that I'll notify him once I've accomplished the task. He's now waiting.
