There.wasnannad on a f lb group for a data entry job at $25/hour.

Person immediately got back to me. Told me an interview would be done in telegram through text as soon as I am able to, no appointment time.

- Camden, NY, USA

Had a job listing on indeed, I applied. Got an email setting up a chat interview. Everything seemed okay, stupidly fell for it because they sent legitimate looking forms for me to fill out, ect. Once all that was completed and they had almost all my personal information they said for payment bank accounts wouldn’t work and I’d need to go to a Walgreens and purchase a $20 dollar green dot card for them to reload with my pay. Of course I questioned this and said I wasn’t comfortable with it but never got a response at all. Emailed the “hr” portion of the “company” too and that was also ignored. Haven’t heard anything since.

- Hampton, NH, USA

Offered a job interview over a messaging service called “Signal”. Never spoke on the phone or to anyone’s face which seemed weird. During the interview they asked for my banking information. When I said I didn’t feel comfortable sending that over the messaging app they stopped answering me.

I found this job on Indeed.com.

I was looking for remote Data Entry jobs and found about 3 listings by Tipping Points Technology Ltd and quickly applied to them and not only received a job application submitted emails from Indeed, but emails from the employer as well.

The email stated that in order to continue, I would need to download the app called Signal and gave the number of the person who will be conducting the interview that I needed to contact.

I went ahead and downloaded the app and started the conversation by introducing myself and the job position I applied for. The person explained the job position, the job tasks and wanted confirmation if that is something I can do or still interested in. The way they texted seemed... Off. IYKYK.

They went ahead with the interview(still through text and not through a phone call or video chat) and I passed and signed & date an employer contract.

They stated that I would need certain equipment, programs and such in order to do the job properly. I stated I have none of those items. They said that they would need to mail me a check which would cover the funds needed to purchase them through a trusted vendor.

Last thing that was done before they suddenly went silent on me was that they wanted to confirm my identity for background means and such, and wanted me to create an account on ID.me, which, I confirmed is a trusted website, but then after I told them I created the account, they wanted my login info.

Not gonna lie, they were giving off mad sus vibes.

I asked for more context by what they meant when they wanted the login info. They wanted my LITERAL login! Like, the user and password.

Yeah, no, nope.

I honestly am very ****** I basically wasted time on these people. I honestly wanted to give them the benefit of doubt and they just did me dirty. So I'm just gonna mass report on all sources to make sure other people don't fall for this and waste their time.

Something felt off from the beginning. When they first contacted me, I replied to the email and the email it was sent from was not the same email I responded to. Also the email was not a valid email or professional.

1. There were a lot of grammatical mistakes (using capital letters when not needed, using commas instead of periods, and saying “interview data and time” instead of interview date and time.

2. Their website was difficult to find and the first thing that came up were their different job listings on various platforms. Their website looks unprofessional, does not elaborate on what the business actually does, and also utilizes the same 3 pictures for different topics which legitimate businesses don’t do.

3. On google, one review says it’s a scam and the other gives a five star review without any information as to why.

4. The person I spoke with was repetitive and asked if I was interested in a briefing and getting to know the company but then didn’t provide any information. They instead asked me to introduce myself with my full name, sex, and location so they could know more about me.

I was contacted via email about a job position for bio-Health pharmaceuticals and told I would receive a check for office supplies. The interview was done via Microsoft Teams and seemed legit up until they started talking about sending the check. The "managers" name or the name he went by was Robert Miles.

They interviewed me on Telegram and Later offered me a job and sent me the new hire paperwork (luckily I was hesitant to fill out) they then informed me my office equipment would be paid for (laptop, software) etc for training as this is a remote job. Then they overnighted me a check and asked me to deposit it and send them a picture of my bank receipt for record purposes. This is when I became even more suspicious and called the better business bureau. And immediately stopped all contact.

- Loves Park, IL, USA

Received text stating my resume was found on Indeed; inquiring If I was interested in a data entry position for 27.00 hr Remote. Given interview code DT-120 to contact person on Team meeting; which was "Precious Harrison" an interview manager of Dermaliq Therapeutics, Inc. She then stated the company will take full responsibility for office equipment. Also, If I was considered for the position after the interview, I would receive a payment to set up "my" mini office at home by purchasing the office equipment plus the shipping logistics. I was puzzled when the interview question asked "How long had I been with my bank" ( for direct deposit). After conversating with "Precious" on May 4, 2023 - I decided to look further into this company/ job offer and found this scam information. My text came from 510-264-7213 "Brian Walter".

- Newport News, VA, USA

A Victor Woods texted me first, asking that I download the app Signal and search for a specific number. 1(818)538-3169. He then sent me a code that I was to use in order to start the interview. Everything was over text and not face time like all my other interviews. I found it strange and asked if we couldn't face time instead when told I had to answer 10 different questions in 10 minutes. They refused and I politely turned them down.

She asked me to download Chatwork to connect with the interviewee and provided an interview code to share with the interviewee. At this point, I searched for the program and learned about the scam. Fortunately, I didn't give any personal information.

I have been applying for jobs and thought I had a legitimate opportunity to interview when I got a text message from “Claudia” saying “ Good Day, I’m Claudia. I am contacting you regarding your resume reviewed by our Company (Dermaliq Therapeutics.). We’re excited to invite you to interview for the position of Remote Health and Wellness Coach, working from home with a pay of $55.00 per hour. We would like to know if you’re interested text me with your email for job info”. She instructed me to download Chatworks Business and create an account. She then sent me a link to the online hiring manager chat and an interview code. I then completed a series of interview questions with the hiring manager “Mr. Eric *****”. This person sent me a job description that didn’t match the one that was emailed to me. At the end they told me I would hear back in 24 hours and to let them know if I was hired. It seemed fishy, so I went to the company’s website where their careers page warned of job scams. I let Dermaliq Therapeutics know through their contact form that I believed I had been scammed. At this point I have given my name, email, address, phone number, and banking institution name to the scammer. I will not be giving any more personal information if they reach back out to me.

- Macon, GA, USA

I was offered a job via text message which directed me to download a "signal app". Text back & forth with someone by the name of "********* Jones" she later asked me to start communicating with "***** ******" thru the "Skype" app. Lucas sent me "hiring paperwork" to my email & asked me to scan it back to him. This "paper work" had my email, home address, copy of my drivers license & social security number etc, I scanned it back to him. Later in the week he told me that he would be sending me a check for my "work equipment" by FedEx, gave me a routing number to track it. He came back on Skype to notify me that the check would not be delivered & proceeded to ask me for my banking info. I text him back & told him that I did not feel comfortable doing this. He told me no worries, he will send the check to me in my email thru a pdf file. He did. & I went to my bank & told them exactly what had been said & done. The bank told me that the check was not real & "***** ******"/"********* Jones" are SCAMMERS!!! I was advised to freeze my credit report. Change my Drivers license number & attempt to change my Social Security number if possible. This is a horrible thing for someone to do. Especially when I am so desperate to find a job for me & my kids.

- Indianapolis, IN, USA

I received a text message from someone called Gabriele Bernhard. Stating I was a great candidate for a remote job for data entry. They ask to download the telegram app & add the “hiring manager” named Nils Semmelhack. I went to download the app & sent a message to Nils. They gave me all this information about the company how they are in DE however their headquarters is in Germany. They even said that they would be opening a new account in my state. Did an “interview” via IM in the telegram app. Went through the process of answering all the interview questions. When I asked him why the interview was done via IM & not phone call or Video chat his response was “That was entirely my choice, i am not consistent with English and i make use of DeepL software via IM.” I asked for an email address & he provided the following “[email protected]” he proceed to send all the benefits of the company & said that my offer letter, I9 & those paperwork’s will be sent to me via email the next day. Made it sound legit at first towards the end he mentioned needing an accounting software programs & time trackers & how the funds for the program/working equipment will be provided fore by the company. How the check will cover cost of laptop, printer, scanner, time tracker with high speed internet. That raised a big red flag for me. I asked him if the company Webasto was registered with the BBB? He then proceeded too message me back “You’re not ready to work” & changed his profile telegram picture
