I went to Wells Fargo which is where I've banked since 2016. They checked there system and looked into it. They came back and told me there isn't any records under my name and ss# showing any unpaid debts, collections or charge offs.
When I called these people back and told them I spoke with my bank they just got nasty. I also told them I check my credit and there isn't anything on my credit report. They responded with there won't be anything there until you get a judgment from the court and we're trying to avoid that by collecting before it escalates. I ask them to send me the info in writing with the infraction along with infraction date. They said I won't get anything in writing until it goes to court. Anyway it sounds like a scam. We contacted the third party directly (not the number provided on the letter) involved and they verified we neither had an account with them nor were we in default on any account claiming to be held by third party.
