person got a phone call that a women named Megan was going to give her a gov't grant. She will first need to purchase a visa card and put $250.00 in order to received a large sum on money. Then she will have to give her the number of the card in order to get the Gov't Grand.

I was contacted by phone saying I was approved for a 7800 dollar grant. I was given a grant approval Id and was given the 2nd phone number to speak with a Robert Hernandez ext. 109. There I was told I would be able to have the money sent to me to the Wal-Mart near me. I'll I needed to do is have 270 dollars for the registration fee to make it so I was exempt on having to pay taxes on the 7800 dollar grant that's free gov money and I shouldn't have to pay taxes then anyways. Or then why can't that come directly out of the grant. Cuz he says it's refundable as well. So I called ScamPulse.com to find out how to report this scam. As I know it is cuz I shouldn't have to send money to get a gov grant. And I'm unemployed and have no income and no way to come up with 270 dollars anyways.

Was sent a message on face book by a friend that I know. Haven't talked to this friend in a long time, haven't seen him in over 50 years. He wanted me to go to a website. Margie Roth is the agent from the Federal Government Grant Company and United Nation Property Eradication Program. Will send 150,000.00 but I had to pay taxes, insurance and shipping. I will need to send back $1,000.00 to pay for the expenses. Send money to Sheila Coleman in Gibsland, LA 71028. Need to respond immediately for UPS to ship money.

I received many calls at my cell phone from the number 1-779-87987. Thinking it was my doctor's office. I finally answered the call today (8/5/2016 at 3:23 pm) and a lady named Annie, who knew my name, stated that she was from the Federal Reserve. She stated that I had been randomly chosen to received a grant of $1,069. Without me saying anything else, she said "you may be wondering where this money is from..." She processed, to tell me that 150 lucky people have been selected for this grant, that they had to be of Hispanic descent and that they had to American Citizens. Apparently, I was one of those "selected people."

She asked how I would like to receive the grant...via a wire into my checking account, or money order via Western Union. At this point I was really suspicious due to NEVER receiving a call like this from the Federal Reserve. So, I asked her once more where she called from. She answered and quickly went to ask how I would like the money. I told her I had to look into it. At that point, she clicked on me. I tried calling the phone number back to see if I could find out more information prior to reporting this scam, but the number was invalid.

When you call they tell you to buy them a prepaid card with 285.00 on it. Call them back with the 285.00. And you will receive your money within 15 min via money transfer or deposit into your account.

Pressing for when funds could be sent.

Discussed with daughter and son regarding chat and came to realization its a scam.

Foreign sounding male individual called cell phone claiming to be from the Federal Government and stated that I had been selected to receive a grant from the Federal Government because I met the guidelines. Caller had my name and home address. Caller stated that for a one-time, refundable $200 application fee I would receive the money via my choice of check, pre-paid card or by Western Union. Caller said to use code AL707 as identifier for Western Union to send the application fee. The caller would not provide further information. Caller did not speak English well and there was lots of noise in the background of his location. I called the number back that showed on my caller ID and another foreign sounding male answered the phone and "verified" the call as real.

1,700 people selected and I am one for a Government Grant offered $9K with a confirmation # and Call back number. Did not even have time to call the number and ask further upon receiving another call offering $7K from the Treasury Dept. and Ck from Reserve Bank of NY with the same spill of a different confirmation # and Call back number to get the money transferred to my account or Cash pick up at a local Western Union. Really??? They said I had been selected through the HHS. Never have to pay back or taxes on these funds. Ha, from the government and not have to pay taxes. They have way too much information they spill out about my phone #, Zip, name, address, etc. and I do not believe a word they have to say since they are foreign accents. Oh, I am to keep all of this confidential since only 1500 people were selected. Since they are different and then I am not a fool to call either but to report this as a SCAM. Thanks for this.
