The individual contacted me via messenger about a government grant. Insured that I would be more than happy at the end of the conversation, he then had me transfer my funds from my bank account to cash app for the deposit of the grant. Also to accept him as new recipient to confirm the transfer of my funds.instead of a confirmation my money was sent to him and while supposedly trying to fix the issue and instead of sending my money back, I was left on hold and then disconnected from the call. After trying to reach this person I've been blocked.

She said she worked for the U.Government under title 1. She was offering a $150,000 grant for personal expenses and a mortgage down payment free of taxes and doesn’t need to be paid back. Now asking for a fee of $1500 before fed ex can deliver the check on July 5th. I’m pretty sure this is a scam.

I was contacted by a friend in reference to a grant for governmemt worker, disable people. I contacted the person she gave. James Cowell Frisby. He contacted me and said that he was a goverment official and that he would help me fill out the grant. He asked for my name, gender, adrress, household income, cash at hand (which i found to be strange). This person tolled me that i would have to pay $150.00 in an Apple gift card. This is to fill out the application. I went ahead and bought the gift cards. Then this person said that i would have to pay $350 for a stamp fee. I ask why did he not tell me about additional fees. I said that he did fully disclosed all the process. I tolled i would have to get back to him on this additional fee. I got in contact with my friend who was telling me that she paid $500.00 and she got $50 ,000. She said "trust the process". I was still on the fencd about the additional monies and he said. Im a good christian. The authority rules and regulations is that they shall communicate via Tex/Facebook. Just follow the instructions and everything we are doing is backed by the CIA and LOCAL POLICE authorities for security reasons. Ive been working for 27 years doing this job. I asked if the $150.00 was refundable and he said its not lost, its fee for application. He keeped asking me how mych money did i have, i said not enought to cover $350.00. He keep pushing that the package was being prepared to send to me as soon as i payed the fee. Then he said that my friends package was there too. Only because i had said that i passed on his info to her. I never gave him her name. After a while he said he couldnt reach her. I felt it was kind of strange, i should have listen to my intuition. Trying to reach my friend but her phone was acting weird. Every time i called it would be clip i guess you could say because it never rang. Long story short i lost the money and ive learned a lesson. Im goin to see her and ask about this whole thing. Maybe her account was hacked i dont know but i wanted to report it as soon as possible.

They was offering a grant of $50000 dollars, all I had to do is buy a 500.00 gift card. I told them I didn't have that kind of money then they said 250.00 was good but I didn't have that either so they settled on 200.00, so I got a 200.00 gift card from amazon then they said the card didn't work. then they wanted more money, I offered 25.00 but they kept saying they needed 50.00. Ant help you can give thanks in advance.

The first call had a india accident. After acknowledging who i was, he said i have an offer of a free grant for $9,000 he explained it was from the government and is offered to someone who had no criminal record and low income inder the federal ARPA program. He gave me a code of 6 numbers and a phone number to call. I called the 2nd person. More of an English accent. She also gave me the same information, that it was a grant. Both persons asked where would i want the funds deposited. Western union or my bank account. I said Western union. He checked for the nearest, which is Target. He said i will need to pay $200 to Target and buy a gift card and the money will be transferred in the gift card and the $200 will be returned to me once the transaction goes through. He further stated he will be with me on the phone all the way until the transaction is finished. I said i don't have $200. He told me that I have to do it today and not to give that 6 digit code to anyone because they could call and claim the money.

He told me there is no deadline and not to give that 6 digit code to anyone because they could call and claimed the money. I further heard him say, "dont tell anyone." That was the RED light for me and the transaction i would need to do

The person mentioned that they were from the Federal Bureau of Grants Department and my name and number had been randomly selected for an amount of $9000 to be granted without any payment back. I asked for the details to be mentioned again so I searched for it and she hang up.

Approached on Facebook Messenger by a Facebook friend imposter, claiming to have been awarded a grant. The grant required a deposit in the form of a cashier's check. Once secured, the grant check arrived (forged of course), which could not be cashed until a hefty insurance payment was sent. So, two cashier's checks were sent totalling almost 51.5k.

The "cashier is known and has admitted to receiving the funds and converting them into crypto, but we are having a very hard time getting her to cooperate with authorities. This is an elaborate scam operation offering grants for a variety of reasons, using the USPS to execute a crime, sending forged checks in the mail. The scammers forged the address of an aviation company located in Tulsa, OK on the check. They also claimed affiliation with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Facebook Messenger has failed to respond to multiple emails in efforts to identify the imposter who is definitely a member of this scam operation.

They send a chart telling how much you can get depending on how much you send by cash app. For instance if you send a $100 you’ll receive $2000. The more you send the more you receive

Approached by a ‘friend’ on messenger about a government grant money through CFDA AGENT RUSSELL STEWART

All I had to do was to pay tax and delivery fee of $1000 in order to get $25000 in ‘free’ government money

I needed to pay the money upfront.

I started to get suspicious of a scam so I called my friend directly and she had no idea what I was talking about so clearly her Messenger account had been scammed to send me the link to this money. I was about to take a cash advance to get the $1000 but I decided it was TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! So I did not but it was tempted

So I am reporting Agent RUSSELL STEWART who was supposedly a representative of the CFDA government grant program. HE IS NOT!!

“Agent” claimed to be CSBG agent and said I had qualified for between 50,000-300,000 in free money from the government.. Asked for my name, address, dob, employment status and picture to make sure they would deliver $ to proper person.. also they gave me a # to identify things on their end.. I’m afraid because of the info about myself they have.. I screenshot the entire thread… I also told the rep I felt like this was a scam because if it was a government entity I shouldn’t have to send a monetary gift or store gift card of any sort… he said it wasn’t but still I didn’t trust it.
