We hired YL Landscaping to do some interlocking and a retaining wall in our backyard.Their employee(initial sales person) who identified himself as Arvin Zang said and texted me that he was the owners brother.The owners of the company are a Mr Li (DONGXU LI) his wife Coco (QINGQING HE).Coco did not say that Arvin was not her brother. However, after the job to my surprise she told me and my wife that Arvin was not her brother.Once Arvin got my initial cheque, he disappeared and only Mr Li (DONGXU LI) and his workers came to the job site.They did not speak English and did not do the job to the specifications and did not raise the chainlink fence as was written in the contract.I asked to speak to Arvin but they said he was not available anymore.It started to look like a scam as they did not seem to know any of the plans that were promised by Arvin.

Within a week the retaining wall was shifting and they refused to come back and fix it.

Arvin had promised a one year warranty.

The owner then said that since the contract was not signed.We did not have a contract.The contract was not signed as Arvin (their agent).Just gave me a copy and took my cheque.He did not sign the contract. Also, if we had no contract then how did the owner know to demand the exact amount of payment at the specific time as stated in the contract.

I gave Arvin copies of the plans and even texted it to him.He said there was not enough space on the contract to write down the plans and he had copies of it and they were also on his phone.So not to worry, he would be here every day to make sure the work was done to my specifications.I had three meetings on the site with him so that he would understand exactly what I wanted done.

So the work was bad and not done to specifications and they did not honour the warranty.
