Final Notice sent to me by mail on a home warranty coverage that I do not have with the “Home Warranty Direct”. They also have my mortgage company name & county on this letter. I called the number to tell them that I do not have them & they tried to get me to buy from them & trying extra hard to convince me to do so. I eventually hung up on them without given my personal information. Do not fall for this letter & please do not pay them anything. I can not even find anything online for this company. BEWARE!!

Home Warranty Direct sent me direct mail featuring vaguely threatening language. “Final Notice!” “Extremely urgent…” “We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after 5 days.” BTW, my warranty didn’t expire; I didn’t have 1.

RECEIVED PINK LETTER IN THE MAIL REQUIRING IMMEDIATE RESPONSE (FINAL NOTICE) WITH LENDER INFO (MY BANK). LETTER IMPLIES THAT MY HOME WARRANTY MAY BE EXPIRING OR MAY HAVE ALREADY EXPIRED. THE LETTER FURTHER STATES THAT THEIR RECORDS INDICATE THAT I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THEM TO GET THE HOME WARRANTY UP TO DATE AND PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY AS THIS WILL BE A FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY. THE NUMBER TO CALL IS 1-888-251-7535.

THE LETTER GIVES FIVE DAYS TO RESPOND.

Home Warranty Direct sends letters on pink paper with the words "FINAL NOTICE" prominently displayed in the address window. It is meant to look like a late notice. I pay my bills on time and I don't want this garbage in my mailbox. I would NEVER, EVER do business with a company that used this kind of deceptive advertising.

Received an official looking letter in the mail stating that my home warranty secured by Wells Fargo Bank may be expiring or may have already expired. It further states: “Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our “FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU”, and that I may be financially liable. If I actually had a home warranty with Wells Fargo, I might have fallen for this, and called the telephone number, as the letter looks official, with a customer ID and everything.

says “final notice“ immediate response

“Lender info: Wells Fargo bank NA“

notifying me that my home, home warranty secured by Wells Fargo is expiring or has expired “you have not contacted us, this is your final notice“

The only way to contact them is through their phone number, giving them access to my phone number

I know several seniors who have fallen for scams like this

I never had a home warranty through Wells Fargo,

This form doesn’t fit someone who is reporting a potential scam and I suppose it doesn’t matter, since it looks like people have already filed reports, and nothing is being done about it

I received a letter in the mail stating that it was my "Final Notice" to renew my home warranty with this company, they provide no company address or email only an "800" phone number that brings you straight to a CSR. Being a new first-time homeowner, I called to find out more and eventually I found out that their only methods of payment are to take credit card or routing number information over the phone. When I asked about the ability to make and account online and see their services they stated they did not have a website and that all of their services can be told over the phone. When I stated that I was not comfortable with paying over the phone, they attempted to reassure me that my Debit card was protected by my bank.

My husband received a pink letter in the mail stating that they were with Lennar Mortgage, which is the mortgage company we went through to get our house. It stated that our home warranties were about to expire and we needed to contact them immediately. While my husband was at work I decided to call and the gentlemen was nice in the beginning. He explained to me that my home warranties only lasted 30 days ( which was not the case). He explained that it would be a 3 year warranty on basically everything in the house and a $75 deducible. He said it was a platinum package. Worried it was a scam to begin with I said I needed to discuss this with my husband. He axiomatically asked how I would be paying today and said I can pay monthly, for a total of $800. He said he could wait on hold while I call my husband. I said no, hes at work I will have to talk with him at home. He said repeatadley that he could hold and this offer was only for today because of COVID. That his company doesn't know what my house looks like without inspection. (My house is a brand new build). When I felt very pressured by this man I decided to say no thank you. At the end of the phone call he said good luck on your repairs then. I texted the photo of the paper they mailed to us to our Mortgage company and that said this was not them and it was a scam.

Received letter in the mail that said it was their final attempt to notify me regarding my home Warranty expiring.

I received a final notice today from Home Warranty Direct (800-299-4998). No address is listed for the company. What upset me is that my wife gets this from the mailbox and it listed her step-father who passed over 10 years ago as the property owner. This same step-father sexually abused her and caused her to go into foster care most of her childhood. My wife was traumatized and was visibly shaking from receiving this letter as she misunderstood what it was, thought that somehow his name was on our property mortgage and that she still can't get away from him. This man has never been associated with our address as we have only lived here for 6 years, 4 years after his passing. It sickens me that predators like this can get away with these kinds of scams without legal recourse.

Extremely predatory mail pretending to be official lender/financing/insurance notification after a recent home purchase. Note how there is only a very, very small disclaimer at the bottom of the page (only visible after opening the mail), no official business address or information, and how it's worded as if the addressee is somehow in default/violation and will get in trouble.

Home Warranty Direct sent me a menacing looking notice - all red, with the words - “FINAL NOTICE”

They were trying to get me to buy home insurance from them, by using this bullying tactic, claiming that my warranty “may have already expired” and that I should call them immediately.

They were making it sound like my Mortgage holder is about to “burst through the door and arrest me”…

First and foremost I am on ALL DNC (Do not call) or mail or anything from any ever. This is for companies safety and protection.

So I get a letter from these JERK OFFS
and in BOLD it says "FINAL NOTICE" so I have been constantly calling and harassing them as to why did I get a final notice? I never got the first or second and play stupid with them that this is not fair and of course I play dumb and say other things. The meanest trick is using a online fax and having my fax call their 800. since the fax doesn't hear a fax tone after 10 seconds, it hangs up and call again. I turn off the volume and let it over and over, about 2 times a minute and let it go on for a few days or weeks since I rarely ever need or use my fax. If they get a little upset and prosecute met, well their names of the individual will be on court dockets. And well that's when their lives will personally be unfortunate. Like I said, I am on the DNC ONLY for their protection and safety.

Claim that my home warranty is about to expire and I need to pay immediately. I do not have a home warranty with this company.

- Charlestown, MA, USA

Received an envelope with a bright pink piece of paper claiming that my "Home Warranty" is not up to date. They even listed my actual (original) mortgage lender's name, though it has since been transferred to a new company. They requested that I call them immediately to avoid certain very costly repairs.

FINAL NOTICE; Property Home warranty (our house) secured by (parents address/trust) may have expired. without warranty in place, will be liable for all repairs. please respond by 7-2-21.

I received a piece of junk mail stating my property’s home warranty secured by Suntrust bank is about to expire. The letter urges one to immediately call 1-888-635-0080 to verify information or the company will “revoke eligibility for coverage after 5 days.” The letter does not list an address for the company and Suntrust is now called Truist bank. The original mortgage through Suntrust was paid off in 2016, and is jointly owned by a husband and wife. However the letter was addressed only to the wife. The letter looks official and could easily mislead a consumer into falling for the scam.

HOME WARRANTY DIRECT
Scammer Phone Number 1-800-299-4998

I purchased my home in 1997, after having it custom built, which came with a home warranty, my home was paid off in 2016 by myself. The warranty expired after one year on a New Construction One Year Warranty Inspection under the Texan Inspection. I had a one-year builders warranty which is normal to expire within the first year after closing. During this time I documented, and inform my Builder of items that need repair or adjustment under the warranty period.
However, after the expiration time, I have taken care of all and any repairs on my own dime.
This morning, I was spoken to condescendingly because the rep. for HOME WARRANTY DIRECT was ignorant of the facts that his script has him spewing to homeowners. I informed him that I am a realtor and that what he was saying was not true because he was so hung up on the repairs of my appliances. He yelled that I was not a Realtor! I have been a Texas Realtor since 2003 and worked in mortgage all of my adult life since 1983 in Beverly Hill, California before moving to Texas in 1993. I have owned three homes throughout my life and all with a warranty that expires after one year.

Nonetheless, I have been receiving these letters suddenly all year (2021), not and today I decided to contact this company because as I stated to Troy, your company did not care about my expired warranty in the early years of my new construction. He was yelling to deflect from the truth and not allowing me to call him out on his companies lies.

The purchase of a residential service contract (warranty) is purely optional (the paragraph in the contract even states (in bold print): “The purchase of a residential service contract is optional. Similar coverage may be purchased from various companies authorized to do business in Texas.

As a Texas Realtor, the Texas, department that regulates home warranty companies is known as the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). It is responsible for licensing Residential Service Companies (RSCs) or popularly known as home warranty companies.
