Yesterday I received a priority mail envelope from Texas. Inside was a cashier check for $1950.52 and instructions

Received text from someone claiming to be with Whole Foods Market stating they were looking for people to be Secret Shoppers and evaluate stores. The text stated that you would be paid for each task completed and there was a link to fill out an application which I did. I did this on 9/4/2021 and then forgot about it but then received a priority USPS envelope in the mail today (9/27/2021) that contained a check for the amount of $2850.52 and instruction on what to do. I felt that the instructions seems kind of suspicious so I googled Whole Foods Market Mystery Shopper and found that is was a scam so I will be shredding the check and letter.

The scammer sent a text with a link for address and name to enter into a raffle contest of secret shopper opportunities at Whole Foods Market for 400$ a week. I responded with name and address. They sent a text saying something would be in the mail. A fake check for 1950.53$ and a single page with "instructions" came a day later in the mail for buying an American Express gift card to send to an email with "shopper experiences survery" to send as well.

Received an offer of employment for secret shopper type job. Sent a cashier's check asking me to deposit and purchase $2500 of gift cards within 12 hrs, before the check wouldve cleared. Then send the card information to an email, and supposedly collect $450 for this. However, i found out the check doesnt clear, yet $2500 comes out of your account anyway

Received the following email after a person in a social media site indicated they were wanting to find product tester and said we should fill out the information. Since the information did not require any real personal data I did just to see what would happen.

Hello ( removed by me for privacy),

Received a link about About making money as a secret shopper for Whole Foods. I then received letter and cashier check for $1450.00 and asked to deposit the purchase Nike gift cards and email info from cards. Sounds like a scam it is a scam

I had received a text on my phone stating that whole foods was wanting mystery shoppers. It said that you could earn up to $400 per session. So I filled out my email address and Said I was interested. So whenever I got the check it had a $1,950 check that does not look real and it wanted me to buy three Nike cards for $500 a piece and scratch off the back and send pictures and if you did it within so many hours of receiving your package you get an extra up to $250 which sounds bizarre to me anyway. So as soon as I got the check and was looking at it I looked up the whole food survey and found out it was a scam. So do not give them any personal information do not try to cash this check. The video said to shred the check immediately and the letter that came with it. Thank you.

Scammer claimed to be from Whole Foods and wanted to me to do Customer Service Evaluation. Sent me a check for $2,410. Asked that I buy $2,000 in Nike gift cards from various stores and record some information, including photos of the gift card information. I'm fairly sure the check is fake or will bounce.

I received a priority mail envelope with a fake letter and a fake check. I immediately knew it was fake because it looks fake. It seems that they have made several copies of the check and letter. They just don’t look legit.
