The scam was attempted via an automated phone message (seemingly a computer generated voice) with the following threat: "FROM THE IRS, INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICES: THE REASON OF THIS CALL IS TO INFORM YOU IRS IS FILING LAWSUIT AGAINST YOU. TO GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CASE FILE PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY OUR DEPARTMENT OFFICE NUMBER (573) 305-2655. I REPEAT, (573) 305-2655. THANK YOU.

* Please note the message identified the call as being from "Internal Revenue SERVICES, not Service!

* The call was made twice today, once in the morning before 11 am and also this afternoon before 4 pm.

Several consecutive incomplete voice messages with Automated voice message saying IRS was filing lawsuit against me.

4845419419 Pensylvania left me a similar message next day.

I can already tell this is scam simply for the fact that this is inconsistant the numbers arent linked to government agencies. I called and there was muddled chatter in the background like a tvs or call center a man with i thick middle eastern or Indian accent answered and said i think Thank you for calling the Internal Revenue Service how can i help you. i said 'i had recieved a call from this number'. he said 'wat?' i repeated the question he said 'ok and who am i speaking with?' Having had dealings with actual goverment againcies and the real corperations via telephone correspondence I know they have caller ID. They know who you are and why your calling so i asked with a bit of a mocking tone 'This is the IRS?..' Whether they understood the tone of the question or took it as a statement I am not sure because they immediately hung up.

Someone posed as an IRS officer to try to get me to send Itune gift cards within 45 minutes or I would be penalized $45000. They knew my postal code and name. They used a name of, Eric Edwards. Had a very strong Indian accent. The phone number they referred me to was 7032396351

The claim is the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you and this automated message is left on your voicemail with a return number. When you return the phone call a person with a strong accent recognizable as being from India answers the phone "IRS". After asking to be removed from a calling list, he begins to harass you in a very profane way. The caller id shows the number 208-309-2158 from Ketchum,ID.

Receive a call on 5/9/2016 from (202)-602-0048 around 12noon. Upon answering the phone an automated recording played claiming to be the IRS and said that my tax return had been flagged for fraudulent activity. I hung up and called back. I spoke to a man with foreign accent and asked if they could provide a 1-800 number and they could not.

I received a phone call from 318-403-2201 indicating that there was a lawsuit against me from the IRS, and then I was asked to verify my home address. When I got a little rude I was transferred to a supervisor and then cursed and threatened.

They said they were with the Department of Internal Revenue Services. In reference to a criminal lawsuit filed against me. The case number is CH76295. The moment I receive the message or get another call me or my retained attorney is to return the call. The issue is case sensitive. The phone number is 213-289-3862. Do not disregard this message and do return this call. Now if you don't return the call or we hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do is wish.....you good luck.

I talked to a guy supposably named "Officer Peter Fernandez" , Badge number IRA 8713. I supposably had a miscalculation Section 1768 and had 2 options 1. An attorney or 2. OOCR. which would be $ 4784.29. I needed to make an immediate decision.

I received a telephone call on May 6, 2016 at about 3:37pm. At first the answering machine came on, & the prerecorded message (female's voice) said that it was an IRS Final notice & they were letting our household know that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us. The message said to call them at 307-365-3904. Our caller id said 'wireless caller'.

An Indian speaking gentleman named Eric Martin called me saying I needed to grab a piece of paper to write a case number and docket number and that I owed 3,500.00 from 2009-2013 in back taxes. This was all false info and the man said I was in denial with having to pay these funds and I was being audio taped. Please prosecute these people to the highest degree of the law. They are up to serious crimes.
