This was for a subsidiary IRS agency offer about getting $1400 + $500 gift card for extra income but the original number I called transferred me to a insurance agency in California (after I was asked my zip code which I am in Texas) I was supposed to be hearing about this claim for IRS extra income help. But it turned out it was all a scam I have a full phone recording (as I recorded the whole call in case) glad I did.

Looks like the IRS website and then after payment it’s explains it is a third party site for to gain a EIN # which is free.

He said he was an Irs recruiter and he wanted me to fill out paperwork. I thought it was legit because i did fill out an app for the irs but i guess that was fake. He also set up a zoom meeting as well. Now when i tried to file taxes someone used my social security number.

Reduced pay during service. Instead of using payroll the owner decides writing personal checks and using cash app instead of the system for the business and takes a percentage based off taxes. Unprofessional and not how a business is run. Proceeds to threaten me with law enforcement instead of recrifying the issue legally.

BBB Note: Anything that involves paying taxes from your income paycheck or the manner in which you are paid is best handled by the  Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  Please file any complaints and notifications to them using their website of www.irs.gov.

Hello,

I am a newly licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, and I just set up a LLC for myself recently. Before I can open a bank account for my LLC, I have to apply for a Federal EIN. So, today I Google searched "LLC EIN" and clicked on one of the first websites that came up:

https://irs.ein-federal-tax-id.com/IRS/application/

I went on this website and it looked like a legitimate IRS website. I entered in all of my information, including name, address, social security number, etc. Then it directed me to a page to enter debit card information for a payment of $299.00. I am totally new to this whole process so I did not know that an EIN should have been free. So I paid the $299.00 not knowing, and then I contacted a friend to confirm that it is normal to be charged for an EIN. I was informed that this service should be free. So there is someone getting peoples' information and money, and then filing for a FREE EIN number and then emailing the person their EIN number.

The email does not have an address on it. When I call the number online, it goes to a "voicemail box that is full" so I could not leave a message. All $299.00 has already processed, and I have no way of knowing if they are going to use my personal identification information. I am going to my bank today to file a dispute to try to retrieve my money, but I was unable to stop payment since it was a debit transaction.

I am not sure if this company has already been reported to the ScamPulse.com or not, but I hope they can be stopped!

Thank you.

+1

The email states I need to confirm my identity to receive the reminder of a third stimulus payment of 889.00

I received a letter in the mail from the IRS with two phone numbers to call, 18777774778 and 3047079490. I called the ScamPulse.com and they gave me the real IRS number. I called the IRS and they said this was a scam. Thank you BBB.

They asked me for all my info so i could get my payment

My 92 year old grandmother received a call from the IRS. They asked for her social security number, which she gave them. I called her bank to let them know. I also called our local ScamPulse.com office and was given additional advice including freezing her credit bureau reports and alerting social security administration.

I hung up and blocked number. It sounds very legit what they are saying tho k personally know was suspicious. Want others to be aware so wonf give personal information out to these people, especially social security numbers.

I was trying to find info on how to get a hold of the irs to verify my identy. An I found a site that said call the irs buy I've Bern doing that so I went into messages to see if anyone else had any ideas. There was someone that wrote they had been trying to get the irs also an they finally got a number an it was the one I put above. I called it an he said he was an irs trouble shooter an in complaint dept. I ask him how I could be sure he was really with its an he said he was on line helping someone could I call back. He said sure or he'd call me back I said ok an I told him I needed his badge number or some proof he was with its he said ok. But never heard back I have the text where we talked.

They call you and there is a recording that says you can be arrested for issues regarding taxes. When they come in the line and you start asking questions they get annoyed and ask why you are calling them. Then when you point out that they are a scam they disconnect.

- Peoria, IL, USA

I received a call from someone claiming to be with SS. They asked me to verify my name and SS number which I did. When the call ended, I noticed the number seemed different, so I called the SS office and they let me know that it was a scam call.

- Pflugerville, TX, USA

Guy called and said someone was committing fraud with my social. This same guy somehow was trying to log into my apple account? Luckily I have the two part verification set up and it ask me if I was trying to log on from another device which I declined.
