Some women call me, it ws a recording, telling me my Social Security has been Compromise. If I want to stay out of jail to give her a call. Well, she scare me. So, I call her back to see what was going on. She told me I had 10 Bank Account in my name, in different states. They found a car that was registered or purchase in my name. It had drugs in it. IF I DON"T CALL THEM THE MINUTE I DON"T GET THIS MESSAGE, THE POLICE IS GOING TO ARREST ME! They scare me pretty bad so, before I call them and I call a friend, She told me she got the same message. She told me it was a scam. On the Channel 6 News, the lady from the ScamPulse.com was on there, informing the consumer on this very scam.

Type of a scam:Government Grant
I received a call with the caller ID showing as a call from Washington DC. I let it go to voicemail. I listened to the message and they said I had a $9,000 grant coming to me and to call for more information. I did call back but the man had such a heavy accent I barely understood him. I was able to understand that he was supposedly with the IRS and the grant was for older people to help them. All I had to do was send $250 via Money Gram. That's when I told him he was full of it and hung up.

8-30 at 1108 -- I received a prerecorded message from 800-735-3933 (on my hospital supplied cell phone, while I was at work) stating it was the IRS and an arrest warrant had been issued against me due to fraudulent activity. I did not speak to a person due to obvious scam.

I got a phone call from the IRS saying that I owed them $3000. This was odd because I filed exempt for the last two years. I tried to set up a payment plan but they wouldn't do that without me sending them money, $740.

I had a partial message on my answering machine threatening possible legal action if something isn't worked out. They said it could be due to identity theaft. I called the number on my caller id, and got a man with a thick indian accent who said he was an officer for the irs named david allen. He asked me if i was given a case number and when i told him no he asked my name. Then after i gave him my name he asked for my social security number and when i said no he became very irritated. When he asked me why i told him that the IRS would never ask for that info over the phone. He became more irritated and reiterated that he is an officer for the IRS. Then I hung up.

I got a voicemail that said this:
"Executed by the US treasury depositing for tax evasion and tax fraud. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate, judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offence. Which is against your name. For more information on your case you can contact the tax and crime unit at extension 201 4197467021. We'll be glad to share your case information and help you with you situation.
I did not call them back and instead I called the IRS to inform them about the situation at 1 (800) 829-1040. After a talking for a few minutes I was advised to report this scam to this website.
A recorded message states they are from the IRS and that I must make immediate contact because my SS # has been linked to criminal activity. I was given a choice to call back (a number was given) or to press 1 to speak to an "investigating agent." I received two of these calls. The first was from the 833 number, which came up as suspicious by my carrier. I just blocked the number. I knew right away it was a scam. The second call came from the 202 number. I can see how people get hooked by these crooks - the recorded message was very convincing. Even though I knew it was a scam, I pressed 1 to speak to an agent - mostly to see what they would say. The person on the other end of the line answered as "Officer" so-and-so, and had an obvious 'English as a second language' accent. He immediately attempted to take control of the conversation and convince me that he was really trying to help me because I was in serious trouble. That is when I ended the conversation by telling him I was reporting all of this to the FBI cyber crime unit. Officer so-and-so hung up. Again, pretty elaborate story line, and scare tactics. Don't fall for it. The IRS does not call you PERIOD. The IRS does not call to tell you your ss# has been linked to criminal activity. They do not call. If you are linked to criminal activity in any way the police will show up at your door and arrest you with a warrant. No one calls ahead. Please don't fall for these scams.
Automated message stating I was in trouble with IRS and to contact them before they take legal actions.

These scammers will first call using an automated voice saying to not hang up, this is an emergency, there is a warrant for your arrest. Then they will leave a phone number for you are to call back. When you do, a man will most likely answer and will sound legitimate. He will say you've called the Internal Revenue Services and will give you a "case number" and "badge number". In my personal experience, he had my maiden last name and threatened me by saying I owed the IRS $2,989 and I explained that I used H&R Block so I will contact them then. At this, he got escalated and said I was on a recorded line and that I was responsible, not anyone else. He "transferred" me to his supervisor who sounded just like him but with a slight souther twang. He proceeded to also threaten me and tell me that I had a warrant for my arrest and that if I disconnected the call 911 would call me and I would be picked up at my workplace. I told him I knew my rights and that this sounded like a scam call. He got upset at that and I hung up. literally 1 minute later I got a call and 1(911) did pop up on my caller ID. I answered and it sounded like the same man asking for me but using my maiden last name, I hung up. At this point, I was shaken up and was searching for myself online. He called a second time and I didn't answer. I googled the IRS actual phone number called and had them verify my account and the representative also told me that, that was scam call and they have gotten reports about that same situation
