R R (GM for J&R Innovations) accepted two checks totaling $36,000 to initiate construction of a new house for me in Liverpool. After numerous delays covering almost 5 months, the house project was cancelled by me because Ray asked for more money just to get started. R agreed to return the $36,000. Outside of a few meetings to review drawings and materials, no work was done on the project, and no materials were purchased by R. After a month, R gave me a check for $36,000 that the bank informed me was going to bounce (fraud? illegal?). After more excuses, he paid me $6.000 cash and said he would have a certified check for the rest the next week. That did not happen. More excuses followed. One day, he said he had a certified check for the $30,000 ready for me and he would meet me. That meeting never happened. The kicker was when R said the back of his house was caving in and he needed to hang on to my money to help pay for the repairs...but he would pay me back. I never once agreed to this. Eventually, R admitted in writing that he still owed me $30,000 and it was entered into a $30,225 Judgment Lien through court in Onondaga County and a lien was placed against his house. More recently, R signed off on a Payback Agreement where he made the initial payment of $8,000 on April 1, and the next two payments of $2,000 on May 1 and June 1. He failed to make the scheduled $2,000 payments in July, August, and now September. The final kicker was his answering a text I sent him mid-July about missing the July payment. He called me, said he was out west visiting his mom who was in poor health and that he would send me the check when he was back in town the following week. Needless to say, another instance of lying to me about getting my money back to me.
