I bought a $100 dollar prepaid Visa gift card on Oct. 28th, 2022 at the Target in Santa Fe Springs, CA. I gifted it on November 9th only to find out today, November 10th, that the balance is now zero.
The online balance website, www.mybalancenow.com, (found on the back of the gift card) says that the card has two 50 dollar charges on November 7th.
That prepaid card has not been exposed to anyone in person until the day I gifted it on November 9th.
**** If you go to the review section for this card on targets website is 99% one star reviews, hundreds of people have had this same thing happen to them. They purchase a card only to find the funds are gone by the time they’re ready to use them. I called their customer service and they hung up on me. ****
This is a huge scam affecting a lot of people and I’m not sure who or how they are getting the gift card info to cash out but it is a huge operation spread across multiple locations.
