An individual with a strong Indian Accent who identified himself as "Jason Roy" From Google called and wanted to check our security settings. I refused to give him any information or accede to his request. We could tell it was a scam.

John contacted me on Facebook claiming to run a multimillion dollar construction business called John Penick Construction. After paying deposits I discovered John is unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured to do home improvement work and that his company is not a real company.

I've made several attempt to contact you over the past week but not received any response. Again we have you named as a defendant in regards to a case our firm is retained to file if you fail to respond by noon today. This case be turned over the grey(?) County courts result noncompliance(?) on your part forfeiture(?) of all pre-legal rights worker. However if you like to greet(?) regarding the details and criteria this case or discuss alternatives before legal action is taken. I can be contacted within this deadline. This website pretended to be the USPS with emblem and copy website. Took information, said they would charge 2$ like USPS then tried to charge CC with a 175$ charge. My CC declined and saved me from charges

Two weeks prior to Christmas I suppose to receive a package of books. I received a message from Fedex that they a tried to deliver the package and they requested my ssn, and they wanted three dollars to attempt to deliver again. This was all done through my email. My package ended up coming through USPS and I was informed by USPS that it was a scam and they are also posing as USPS as well. I was never charged the 3.00 dollars, but I did contact the Social Security Administration, the bank, and the three credit bureaus.

Letter received was regarding my Investment Plan. A transfer in my bond funds would be made by March 16, 2023 in this letter if I didn't call and respond. I contacted my bank first regarding my bonds and retirement fund holdings. They advised that no such bond allocations were to be made. When I called the phone number in the letter to inquire, the first question that needed to be answered in order to connect to a representative was my social security number. I hung up immediately and did not give any information about myself. Beware! This letter appears to be a genuine retirement plan advisement.

I listed an item for sale on FB Marketplace. An interested potential buyer said he would pick up the item and asked for my address and phone number, which I gave. He then texted me a google verification code to "confirm that my listing was real" which I also gave to them. I have not heard from him since.

I received an email that appeared to be from the Dick's Sporting Goods Rewards Program with a link to a survey to win a Pickleball set. I am normally so aware of these scams but ironically my parents had used my Dick's Rewards card that VERY day to purchase pickleball equipment. I entered my information to enter to win a set - I was immediately charged $34.98 from "Brilliant Discount". Roughly one week later there was an attempted charge on my card for $107.55 from Gadget Network Unlimited. A Google search for this revealed over 40 scam websites with business addresses located at storage facilities or mailbox stores (all offering digital mailboxes) and all had an identical "return address" at an address in Ohio.

The scammers utilize spoofing to cover their robo calls. They use a robot to try and convince you that it is a person. They are targeting small businesses and people who may have tax debt.

I don’t know if they want money since I’m not replying. First text told me tentative of fraud on j’y account. Second text telling me I’ll be delivered at this date that time . I’m not replying it says to send stop to stop getting text but I feel they might fish if you reply or click anything. My Amex alerts has not rung so I assume it’s a scam

I received a call from an unknown caller stating that his name was Nelson Smith from US Customs and Borders Protection and that they intercepted a package with traces of drugs from US. Postal Service addressed to my name. He had my current mailing address and a mailing address I am not familiar with in El Paso, Texas. He stated his badge ID was 925R10 and my case # was DC782479. He said that the Texas authorities have an arrest warrant out for me and that they will be sharing it with my local police. Additionally, he wanted to confirm my banking institution and said that someone is using my name to launder thousands of dollars.

A person contacted me through Facebook Marketplace. Her screen name was Lina Caroline. Her Facebook profile stated she went to high school in Wiggins, .S. USA. She wanted to buy an item I have posted on Facebook Marketplace. She "tried" to send me the money through PayPal. Said the payment would not go through because she sent the money from a business account and mine was not. I got an email from a suspicious PayPal address stating that I needed to ask "Lina" to send me $300 which would turn my account into a business account. I told "Lina" that I was not going to do that. I did not hear back from the person after that.

I listed some items on FB Marketplace. Scammer was interested in several (should have known) they wanted to call me. I thought it was ok. So I gave my phone number (mistake) then they wanted to send me a verification code by text and wanted me to send it back so they would know I was real. Of course when I did they never called. So I looked it up and found how others had been scammed the same way. I'm concerned how they can use my number or what they'll do with it!!

Same as other reported scam re: Netflix, I had to pay in order to avoid permanent suspension. Url was suspicious, I deleted the text. The 2nd time this has happened.
