Contacted Gary Thatcher on Facebook marketplace about an office container for sale. Talked back and forth on messenger for weeks, finally got the "estimate" from a Desmond Steenkamp on 10/31/24 but it did not come from Portabox Pros. The email came from [email protected]. We asked for information so we could pay by Paypal (so it was secure). We finally got an email on 11/11/24 from a Melissa Laren Packard (from [email protected]) with another copy of the estimate and instructions for Paypal using her personal PayPal details and asking us to use "Friends and Family" when paying to avoid a 21 day delay in shipping.

It looked like a legitimate website, but upon closer investigation, it looks like a scam. There's no sort of purchase guarantee provided, the price was unrealistically low, and there is no record of the business actually delivering products.

We paid for a mobile office to be shipped in 2-5 days with a company credit card and never received it. Now when I try to call the number it says it's no longer in service but other people get voicemail.

Got website from person on Facebook marketplace. I sent message on requesting a quotation. quotation seemed suspicious. Website phone number is busy and the chatroom refuses to call.

I found that the address is owned by Oregon International Port of Coos Bay. I called them to confirm they are indeed at that address. The website that the scammer used was generated completely from AI. All persons in the picture are fake as well, generated from AI. They sent me a sample invoice through email and it was linked with invoicesimple.com . No payment was done.

Website needs to be taken down so other people do not get scammed.
