- Cleveland, OH, USA • Jun 14, 2024

I was first called over a month ago by representatives claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House, stating that I had won their Platinum Package prize - 5.5 million and 4K a week for life and a Porsche. At first they wanted me to pay $800 for a registration fee, then they lowered it it $500, and now they will accept $200. They want me to get an Amazon card or GreenDot card. They have also called from 413-291-9178 and 470-803-7523. One of the callers said his name is Mike Anderson, the supervisor of the Prize Committee and affiliated with Old National Bank. Another caller is named David Orlanski, who said his badge number is 792. He said 99% of the tax was paid and I would have to pay $200. They claim they are coming to my home with the check and the car and will go to the bank with me. I did not send them any money.

Consumer received a call telling him he had won the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes. He told the caller he hadn't entered; the caller told him if he had shopped at Walmart and/or CVS in the last 10 years that was how he'd been entered. The consumer told him he was a scam and said he was going to the crime prevention dept at his local PD, the call said go ahead. The caller didn't get as far as saying what was won, or what he had to do to get the prize.

I received a 'taped' phone call telling me that I won $10,000 per wk or month for the rest of my life. To claim my prize, I was to call 661-301-2261. My claim number was 95051 and Gary Barksdale (?) is the president of PCH. I did NOT call the number. I had not 'entered' the sweepstakes and so I believe it to be a scam.

Received phone call, caller identified himself as Dave Sawyers and assured me I had won 4.5 million dollars, 2024 Mercedes convertible, $500,000 cash and $15,000 monthly for 2 1/2 yrs. I needed to go to Walmart or closest store and get cards worth $5,000.00 so they could process my winnings and pay the IRS. I told him the IRS does not act that way and I would contact them to verify. The next morning, he called and asked if I was ready to receive my money as he was ready to leave for my house to make the payment. Dave Sawyers tried to explain his company's procedures require I get the money to make payments and show my good faith. He e-mailed me documents which I recognized as fake, also FBI agent ID card and badge. I told him he was trying to rip me off and he was nothing but a thief, at that point he hung up.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from Publishers Clearing House phone call that I won 400,000.00 to be deposited into my bank. They would bring me a brand new pick up truck, $1200.00 cash and $7000.00 a week for life. They wanted to receive a gift card for $300.00 and then when I said I did not have it, it went down to $50.00. I did not send them any money.

Today, I received a call from 786-936-1156. The caller stated that they are with ScamPulse.com and investigating the sweepstakes call I had received yesterday for the PCH winnings. He said he is with ScamPulse.com and that the amount was not correct and that I won 1.2 million and everything else I would get. They wanted me to send them $600.00.

I gave them my online banking number and social security number. They said that they needed it for taxes. When I figured out it was a scam I let my bank know. I have dropped the online banking. And I changed my account.

I received a phone call today indicating that I'm a big prize winner of $8.5m and I won a Mercedes Benz car & $5,000 a week for life. Somebody would come to the house and escort me to the bank to have the check put in my account. I spoke with David Jackson in the claims department and James Pearson, the head supervisor.

I was contacted on my home land-line, Saturday last, 4-27-2024. The caller was Elwin Parker, at the phone # I mentioned. A bunch of blah, blah, blah about me "winning" a secondary prize from PCH, $7,000 a week and a 2024 Mercedes. I gave him a lot of negative attitudes and he had someone named James Peterson email the document from "PCH" with all the details, including pics of the car. His email is [email protected]. I was to go the a Walmart or Walgreen's and pay the $500 for a "1 Vanilla" gift card and call Elwin TODAY with the registration # and they'll process the "winnings". He said I'd get the $500 back within 24 hrs. (Yeah, right). Anyway, this is where it sits right now. I expect Elwin to call me today when I don't call him! My first clue was Elwin saying "okie dokey" a lot during our conversation.

Claimed to be publishers clearing house and I was a winner. Seemed real. Knew my address and that I participate in their sweepstakes. But in the end wanted me to drive to my bank. I did because they wanted to get me half of money today. Kept on phone and when I got to bank he wanted me to go to atm and take out 300 and just place it on my lap. I pulled my card out and hung up. His name was supposedly Jamie St.Patrick and his personal number was 668-383-7155. Original number was from Publishers was 570-781-4343

The scammer told me that I was the winner of a giant check for the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes that I entered a long time ago and probably don’t remember. I didn’t believe it but went along with it waiting for the person to ask me about my banking information. He never did, instead he told me to have a few things (my ID and his “badge number”) ready to claim my prize because the big check was on its way and they’d be there any minute. He told me to write down his “badge number” and repeat it to make sure I got it correct. I immediately recognized the “badge number” as my sister’s date of birth and did not repeat it. When I refused to repeat it he immediate hung up. My sister’s Facebook account was recently hacked and I’m not sure if this was related.

Received a phone call from a man by the name of John Peterson, claiming to be a representative for Publishers Clearing House, informed me that I won $2.5 Million and a Mercedes Benz. He provided me with his personal contact number, and stated that I would have to register with him over the phone due to the IRS requirement. He then provided an ID#859641353JP. Then he would set up a time and date to come to my home to bring my award. I knew this to be a scam, and did not provide any information. I wanted to let the public know about my experience.
