I found a puppy, Josie, on this website, durhamslabradorretreivers.com. Had a nice exchange with ******** ******* ****** and they seemed legitimate. Until my bank called because their Zelle transaction history was suspicious and the bank thankfully cancelled the transaction. The scammer then got heated and called me profanities, threatened to shoot my home (they have my address), and claimed to be part of a gang, *****. The same exact photo of this puppy was also on another website, Raleigh Labs.

They said that they would have a dog delivered but then didn't. I lost $950.

- Ripton, VT, USA

They were going to sell me a tea cup Chihuahua for $600. An that included the shipping. I paid her the first installment and she said great, I’ll get the paperwork together and tell you when she’s on her way then you can send me the rest of the payment by PayPal. 2 hours before she was to get here I got an email stating that her crate was not excepted for her “next” flight, and I needed to pay $3,500 for a new crate or rent one for $1,000. But I could pay in bitcoin. I then realized I had been scammed. I called the State police and called PayPal and they told me the money did not go to Wisconsin, it went to South Africa. There is a Vermont state police case pending. I hope this will help anyone else from getting scammed from these people.

All Facebook messaging said we would meet and get a puppy. We were supposed to meet in Nebraska. Harrison Thomas was the seller and a no show at the designated time. I attempted to contact him several times and multiple ways. At 1AM I got a message that he would see me the next day but didn't give no meet time or place. I contacted him several times for a refund. He stated he would give my money back ($850) but it's been 4 days and nothing. I think I've been scammed.

Website selling puppies had a "contact us" form, which I filled out to inquire if a certain puppy was available. I was texted back, then emailed with detailed information and pictures/videos of the chosen puppies. We arranged for a puppy to be shipped to me in California in a few days. I transferred $900 via Zelle in 2 installments, as he said sometimes there is an issue with a large amount being transferred at once. The morning of the alleged shipping date I got an email from a fake shipping company called Safe Logistics Agency telling me the puppy was at the airport ready to ship, waiting for me to transfer money for a required Pet Shipping Insurance Policy through Petsecure for $970, which would be refunded upon delivery of the puppy at my home. They instructed me to do a bank transfer via Paypal and choose the Friends and Family payment option. I texted, then called the person I had been in contact with since the beginning at each number (there were 2 phone numbers), and there was no answer at either, though he texted me from one number and said he could not speak with me until he was off work at 5 pm. I told him I would like to pick up the dog instead. He responded by saying that the dog was already at the airport and the shipping company only has a once a day courier schedule, and the dog would have to stay at the airport overnight and incur another $500 charge or more for this delay. I asked him his address and he gave me: 7222 N 15th Place, Phoenix, AZ. I asked him to refund the money I sent already and I would pick up the puppy in person and pay him cash at that time. No response.

- Aurora, CO, USA

These scammers are using puppies to scam you. They made it look like the site is legit, and the puppies are real. They send you documents that they have transferred ownership and a shipping plan.

- Reno, NV, USA

I was looing online for puppy, they reached out by text saying they have puppy available for $1000 ready to go home today. I said I will not be sending any money until I can verify the puppies either in Person or by Video chat. I asked to video chat they said they dont have the apps and can only send current pictures at this time. That I can send $1000 and they can send puppy by delivery. I again said I will see them in person, and pay cash they said they only take credit card. Would not provide address or video of puppies. I stopped conversation at that point and said they sound like a scammer and that I was going to report them. They said go ahead and thats it.

Received texts and emails with puppy pictures but no physical address location, or name of individual contact. The phone number provided from text messages only rings endlessly with no answer. The webpage states they are located in Cody, WY and the phone number is a DOUGLAS, WY phone number.

Puppy, chihuahua, would meet me at a designated location. I waited and received a message to buy an Amazon card and read him the numbers. Then he would bring the Puppy.

I contacted AKK about a puppy adoption around August/September of 2022. I was told the adoption would take place 6-8 months from that date and I would need to put down a $500 deposit with and additional $3500 paid later. I paid the $500 through Venmo and then waited. Around February 2023 I contacted Regal AKK by email, asking for a puppy update and a new adoption day estimate. I received no response. I tried to contact via email again in April 2023, again no response. I sent a Facebook message to the business, no response. I finally commented on an Instagram post inquiring on how to get a hold of the owner, in which I received a DM to text. I sent a text asking for an update on 04/15 an was promised one by the end of the day. I did not receive an update. I texted again twice in the span of a week asking for the update with no response. On 04/23, I sent a final text asking for an update and stating my concern that I was being scammed. No update.

I tried to buy a puppy off the website mentioned. They sent me pictures of the puppy and said they ship the puppy the next day. The next day the person I talked to said sent me an email with the shipper insurance information. Which stated. Shipping insurance was $850. That when I said, I’ll just pick the puppy up. Then they never responded back. I tried to cancel my payment through PayPal but it was processed already.

We are looking for two female West Highland Terriers and we chose Marilyn E Redlick from Facebook Westies group. She's the one who had puppies ready. She had someone else contact us (267)486-4443 named William. He made an appt with us to meet at the address 3150 Gulfstream Rd. Palm Springs FL at 2:00 pm. We drove 250 miles to no avail. No dogs barked but we did get a call from William immediately. He saw us from the camera doorbell. We were then told he was shipping them and gave us a fake shipping company World Freight Deliveries (845) 478-4550 Isiah is the name of the shipping guy. For two days he kept texting telling us we need more money to pay a deposit of $1,000 for the crate rental which we would get our cash back when the pups are delivered. Then he says we need $300 for pups insurance while in transport, then he said he would put in 1/2 so now we only needed $150 more. No $150, no refund and no puppies. I also have a cashier phone number which we never spoke to or sent money. That number is (502)496-4136. They all have the same phone message from Google. Please state your name. No other introduction. We contacted the property owner, and he says he knows nothing about this.

I saw the exact ad that was listed here. We texted back and forth and they sent me a contract. I had my son look over all our texts and the site and he thought it was a scam. Asked them to do a video call and they said they were unable to do that. One of their sites had a warning and said to contact your bank if you sent any money to this site. If it wasn’t for my son I would have lost my down payment of $500 and the balance of $500. They originally wanted $1450 but went down to $1000

Advertisement for Yorkie Puppies for sale: $900.

A $400 reservation fee is required upfront, paid with Paypal using Family & Friends to avoid fees...using this method does not allow you to dispute the purchase, I found out after the fact.

I set up an appointment to see the puppy and went to the location provided. House with no answer, Facebook Messenger blocked or shut down, unable to message.

Notified by PayPal, it was a scam.

There are more than 20+ sites on Facebook with different websites; if you look at them, they are the same scam. I reported as many as I could to Facebook.

- Bloomington, IN, USA

This was an advance payment scam to reserve the pet. They wouldn’t share any pictures, veterinary records, or video evidence of the dog.

I have 100 plus references that say differently, we have contracts and I ALWAYS send photos videos and offer FaceTime and vet records. I have looked in my records and have no adopter or even a an application by this person. I am a 501c3 rescue

- Big Rapids, MI, USA

Purchased two puppies that were supposed to be vet checked, shots and deformed. When asking for documentation seller was voiding giving proper documentation. When asking she jl forgot veterinarian records and would send in mail, hadn't received in a week through mail so she was contacting veterinarian to get paperwork again. Paperwork I received was she falselified and she forged the veterinarian signature stating treatment was done. She was caught lying about care. She was going to reimburse some monies back for service that wasn't done. She has blocked all communication. Have all correspondence saved from this scammer.

I saw their website and texted them to reach out about the puppies I’d like to purchase. John Arnaud replied and we followed up with email for more details. He called me so we can finalize the deal and asked me to pay for the dogs and shipping. I asked him if that’s all the expense and he confirmed. Gave me his Zelle account that is not enrolled so I had to verify and he confirmed he is legit. He gave me confirmation of my purchase with tracking number. He said the pups will arrive on the date and time indicated which was today. I didn’t know that the delivery company emailed me to ask for money for the crate so the pups will be safe during travel. I asked John why I didn’t get confirmation for tracking. He said check my email.

That’s when I saw they wanted more money. They confirmed it was refundable. I asked him why he didn’t mention about the crate and why he didn’t take care of that during our transaction so I only have to deal with him and not another vendor. He just said I will get my money back once they deliver the dogs and I have back the crates. So I paid $500 for it and then they emailed again that they don’t have that kind and I have to pay $500 more. So I told them I’m not paying anymore money and they can deliver me the dogs when they have the crate or they can give me a full refund. I didn’t hear back from both Pomeranian World and WWP who took another $500 from me.
