As an international student, I'm new in the city so I have less knowledge and experience on so many things. When I called this number: +14166719987 which is the exact same number I'm seeing in many comments here, he told me 45 dollars an hour + the standard 45 of gas and 2 movers. I had already explained to him that I didn't have much stuff and a mini van would do. He said okay and told me the exact same thing. He even sent a text later asking for my info and stating 45 dollars an hour plus gas of 45 dollars and then 2 movers.
The movers who (I thank God were quite nice) showed up with an entirely different explanation and contract. He sent me 3 movers instead of the 2 he himself had said earlier, I was told I had to pay 45 per mover, the least offer was 4 hours with a 200 down payment.
I was outraged because I was alone (as I am in the city and country), didn't have much money on me because I ended up using all my last cash on them and was wondering why I wasn't given all these info immediately, upfront and earlier like all other moving companies I had called.
I couldn't cancel because who else would I call? I was alone and I also needed to get to where I was going asap.
With the way he explained "45 dollars per hour and 45 of gas" I calculated 2 hours=90 and 45 of gas, = 135.
I was charged 643. After arguing with him, he gave me 600.
He was extremely rude, cut the phone on me twice and when I called back, he didn't pick. He is extremely rude, lacks proper customer service and is unprofessional. All the information should be given to the customer immediately not the time or last minute you arrive to move their stuff.
Look at the receipt below to see how much I was charged for a service that lasted only 1 hour 30 minutes. I had to go ahead with it because they literally explained everything to me last minute! Being alone and stranded, I had to pay it.
Absolutely horrible. he Originally make it clear, it is $45/hour for two movers but he charges minimum 4 hours do the math yourself, it comes to $180 + HST. he charged $500 after we shouted at them, and I warned him that I am a lawyer. They damaged my sofa. They were careless, did not even have blanket to put under furniture, just throw everything in the truck. when we got to my home, they left the last item in the basement, and as I did not follow them, they did not bother bringing it up. We had to move it up ourself. absolutely horrible.

Did any result come from the police investigation? Also, did this occur in the Toronto/Markham area? I'm dealing with the same scam - same email and phone number.
Thank you!
Me and my family are the latest victims of this scam. I am so angry right now its unbelievable. My dad is a very hard working man. He puts his blood , sweat and tears into everything and he really works hard for what he earns. My father contacted them 2 weeks prior to moving day. When moving day came they were 1 hour late. Prior to this , they had ensured my father that the whole moving process would take $400 approximately for moving stuff from a house of our size. Other than being late , the movers were extremely unprofessional and seemed like they did not even care. They asked my father for an initial $350 deposit. After loading all our stuff ( btw in the process of moving they badly damaged our stairs and damaged alot of our furniture). They added a second deposit and then finally asked for a large sum of $1300 total. They make you sign a bs contract which is very confusing and they manipulate the contract at the end to there own terms just to pull more money from you. I cannot express how sad I am . Me and my family are quite depressed due to this and they dont know what to do. Can yall please help me in telling me what I can do ? This is not how its done. I dont know how people can go so low to scam innocent people that are already have to handle the stress that comes along with the whole moving process

Please help
No address, no HsT/GST/or whatever QC number (but they’ll still charge you taxes); plus no insurance (although they’ll tell you they have - uh huh).
If this comment can save at least one person from being ripped off, great.
Go with a real reputable moving company with a website, Google reviews, Proof of insurance, Ontario plates, uniformed workers and someone who accepts something other than cash.
Don’t believe me, you’ll end up with more than a hole in your pocket and damages furniture.
A move that was supposed to cost us $400-$500 ended up costing us over $1300.
The movers keep changing their company name and ad on Kijiji to make sure nobody notices a pattern.
The phone number they use is: 416-271-6828.
It’ll be a Quebec number plate on the truck that they change frequently to not get caught.
They give you a lowball estimate in the beginning when you talk to Joseph on the phone, so that you’re tempted to hire them for the job. Joseph told us it would be $50/hour for 2 movers, and when the the movers came they bumped the rate to $100/hour saying three people were going to help move. Also they demanded a $300 deposit in the beginning which we weren’t told beforehand. My boyfriend called Joseph who wouldn’t budge and said “It is what it is.” Not knowing this was the beginning of a scam, we agreed thinking we shouldn’t overreact. When they finally had all our furniture in their truck, they demanded another $200 and said there would be another final bill. That’s when we looked online and realized it was all a scam, and decided to call the police. Unfortunately, the police are useless as doorknobs because when we asked for police to come help us, they insensitively told us,”sometimes you learn the lesson the hard way!”
Finally, they told us to pay them another $800 and told us that would be the final bill before they let our stuff go. At that point, we were quite frightened and wanted to be done with the situation so we paid the extra amount to get away from the “movers”.
I would strongly advise everyone looking for movers to do their thorough research before going for such services, and either pay the premium and hire from a reliable company, or tough it out and do it yourself.
The experience we went through was not only mentally traumatizing but it also jeopardized my family’s safety and resulted in a loss of $1000.
I too was scammed in September. I'm filling a small claims court and hope to take these [censored]s. All I need is an address. Anyone have any kind of way of getting their address?
If not, how we can trap them is setting up another appointment to get moved and when they arrive serve them with papers.
Let me know! Thanks.
I'm the latest victim.
Same thing happened to me.
I had almost the same experience. I should have done my research before hiring them. A lot of what people said is similar to what I experienced as well. The police can't do anything, they just tell you to pay the amount and take it to small claims court later
But I spoke to some one in police department best thing is to call 911 and ask for help they are running there scam all over gta and they have guns they try to fool people black lives matter and all those [censored].
They took my light stuff and said we cannot lift the heavy stuff they don't have any dolly.
They brought some quebec register truck
After talking to police I got information that they read all your comment in this website and try to get themself prepared for the next scam differently.
Best option is to record all there activity and report to police and your newspaper
Then things can change
In my case same scammer phone number was 4162716828
I'm the latest victim.

They stopped at gas station and ended up bumping up the move from $400 to $1200. And they also ended up damaging the walls and front door and the building management is now holding me liable for! :(
How do we join forces!?
