There is a man pretending to be someone he isn't. He said his name was Alain Gonzalez. He tried renting me a house that was not his. I found the real owner. This guy uses your company many times to do this. Please. Be very aware or call the police. I did and I got the FBi involved. If you have Camara in you store I suggest you keep all the footage. They will come to see who send that package.

This man “Michael Pappas Eugene” had a listing on zillow and a few other websites for a 3 bed 2 bath house for rent at just $1200 per month and a security deposit of $1588. We were contacted by email after showing interest in the listing. Initially I was sent an email at midnight which already made me a little apprehensive but we were really interested in this house. He told us he had moved to New York (the house is in CA) for work and he needed trustworthy tenants to take care of the property. He asked us to fill out a rent application form which was just a series of questions within the email he sent. He was not asking for ssn. We sent the answers back and within an hour for an email saying we were accepted. He told us we could go view the house from the outside and all of the blinds were open and all of the windows so you could see inside. I do believe the house is really being rented or sold but I do not believe he owns it. He asked for a deposit of $1588 to secure the property and then he would send the keys. Once the deposit was sent through Zelle upon his request he sent a tracking number and told us it should arrive in 4 days. Once the website told us it was in our city, it showed that the “sender called to place package on hold”. We called him and he said he spoke with his lawyer and would also need first month’s rent before releasing the package to us. So then $1200 was sent and we asked when we could expect the package. He let us know that the “delivery man had already left” when he called to put it on hold so if it wasn’t delivered by 6 pm then it would be delivered first thing in the morning the following day. Multiple time throughout the process things felt off and i would express my concerns of this being a scam and he would assure us that he was “a man of God and knows how hard people work for their money and he would never scan anyone”. It all seems ridiculous to me now. The tracking number has not updated since then nor has he returned my emails or phone calls. In fact, the number goes straight to voicemail and he was using a text now phone number which i did not realize before as he would always answer the phone never let it reach the voicemail. I came on the bbb website to look up if “remax delivery” was a legitimate business and no results came up. The whole website is fake. When you look up the address they provided it doesn’t even exist. I wish I would have listened to my instinct but we wanted the house so badly and were hoping the listing was real. I am reporting in hopes to save another family from major disappointment and possibly being scammed out of their hard earned money.
